Daily Fantasy MLB Hitter Stacks FanDuel & DraftKings 9/3/16

Welcome to our daily article breaking down some of the other stacking targets on this slate. We covered our system's top value plays in our daily picks article and pitching breakdown but here we will look at other dudes to consider.

In case you didn’t notice, on Saturday we released our brand new NFL DFS suite of tools including full projections, optimal NFL lineups and Player Lab which includes filters to help you create NFL lineups for FanDuel and DraftKings. It’s a robust set of tools; well beyond anything we’ve ever had and something we feel will help our users *ahem* tackle the NFL season.

Using tools like these for the NFL season is crucial and you can grab a free 2 WEEK trial to test out yourself.

A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!

Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Houston Astros vs. Derek Holland (TEX)

Not a whole lot of stacking option on the early slate, but the Astros sure look good in this one.

Not only do they get a ballpark boost heading to Arlington, but they will be going up against Derek Holland, who has struggled mightily this season. On the year, Holland owns a 4.68 ERA as well as a 5.17 xFIP and 5.09 SIERA. It's safe to say things haven't been great for the southpaw this season. I know he's looked good in his last few outings, but I don't see that lasting much longer. He does own a 5.17 xFIP for crying out loud!

The other reason why I like the Astros today, is because of the way they have been hitting the baseball. In their last 30 contests, they own a .331 wOBA and .181 ISO (both 10th in MLB). This team has some huge upside with all those big bats and playing at Arlington will certainly help, which is why I'll stack these guys in the early slate.

My top 4 guys to stack: Jose Altuve, Evan Gattis, Carlos Correa and George Springer.

Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Jimmy Nelson(MIL)

This Pirates' offense has not been alive of late (.307 wOBA last 30 games), but I'm expecting them to get it going tonight. They will be going up against Jimmy Nelson, who has been awful as of late. In his last five outings, he's boasting an 8.25 ERA along with a 1.83 WHIP. I honestly wish I was making those numbers up, but I'm not. He's just in a huge funk right now, and I expect the Pirates to do some damage. What better way for this offense to get rolling than at home against a pitcher who's ERA is over [eight] in his last five outings?! Make me proud, Pittsburgh.

My top 4 guys to stack: Gregory Polanco, Starling Marte, Andrew McCutchen and Josh Harrison.

Colorado Rockies. Braden Shipley (ARI)

I don't always talk about Coors, but when I do -- I absolutely love a team from there. And that's the case tonight.

I'll be stacking the Rockies tonight, as they will be going up against rookie, Braden Shipley. We all know the damage that happens at Coors, so just do it! The rookie has had a rough going this season, as he owns a 42.7% hard contact rate and 5.32 xFIP. Those numbers alone certainly won't help you out, especially in Denver. I'm stacking this Rockies' offense just off those numbers alone, but can you blame me? I'm expecting Shipley to have a very rough outing in this one. Do what you always do when you're at home, Rockies!

My top 4 guys to stack: Nolan Arenado, DJ LeMahieu, Charlie Blackmon and David Dahl.
