What We Know
Personnel
- Miguel Cabrera sat out Wednesday's game as his ankle flared up. With two days rest he should be good to go for tonight's matchup in Kansas City. Stay tuned for lineups this afternoon.
- The Jays will skip Fancisco Liriano in favor of Marcus Stroman today as they have flexibility with Aaron Sanchez returning to the rotation.
- The Mariners are expected to get Nelson Cruz back tonight after he missed the previous two games with a hand issue.
- It doesn't affect us today but good news on Clayton Kershaw. He is scheduled to make his first rehab start at High-A this weekend. His return is getting closer.
- After missing the Orioles last five games, Adam Jones is expected to return to the lineup tonight.
- Albert Pujols sat out Wednesday with a flare up of his Plantar Fasciitis. It is likely he sits out once again on Friday. Stay tuned for lineups.
- No update on Marcel Ozuna yet after he jammed his wrist making a diving catch on Wednesday. He sat out Thursday's game and could very well be headed for the disabled list if he is unable to get back through the weekend.
- Yunel Escobar has been cleared of concussion symptoms and is expected to return to the Angels lineup on Friday.
- Lorenzo Cain is considered day to day with a wrist injury.

Jameson Taillon FD 7400 DK 8400

Now that the Optimizer has had some time to take in some extra information overnight we can take a look at some of the top lineups. The first thing I noticed when running 25 lineups on both sites is the frequency in which we see these two pitchers paired together today. Taillon shows up in all 25 lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel and they are paired in 22 of 25 lineups on the DraftKings Optimizer. The value they provide today in salary relief leaves you a ton of flexibility to stack Coors bats with some other top options today. I wrote about both of them in depth today in the Main Article and Pitcher Breakdown so head back there for further analysis.
Jurickson Profar FD 2500 DK 3200
Opponent - HOU (Fister) Park - @TEX
FD - 11.23 DK - 9.1
One guy I did not discuss in the article was Profar. He shows up on all 25 lineups on both the FanDuel and DraftKings Optimizer and makes a terrific salary relief option on his own or as a part of a Rangers stack, He has bounced around the lineup since cooling off and obviously brings more value if he is back near the top of the order today. He gets a decent matchup against Doug Fister who is striking out less than six batters per nine and sits with a poor 4.80 xFIP on the season. If Profar is down in the order you may want to reconsider him with so many tremendous value on the Phillies.
These are players that show up in each of the top 10 lineups as produced by our lineup optimizer. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're "safe," it just means that their projected weighted-mean point total is a solid building block for a great lineup foundation today.
