Pitching Targets
Note: We discussed Jake Arrieta and Jaime Garcia in the Main Article and will be going over a few more options below.
Pitching Targets

Let's be honest: Jake Arrieta is the clear-cut cash game play of the day. But if you're looking to be different, then go-ahead and pay up for Mad-Bum. Yes, he's going to cost you a pretty penny, but he's one of the best pitchers in the game today and has a nice matchup against the Dodgers.
Nice matchup against the Dodgers?! Yes! Granted they've been on a tear, but they've struggled mightily against southpaws this season. They own a .288 wOBA (29th in MLB), 80 wRC+ (27th in MLB) and .130 ISO (28th in MLB). I'm sure you were not expecting those numbers from the Dodgers, but those are real. They have had their struggles, and will be going up against one of the top southpaws in the game today. This could end up being a very sneaky GPP play.
Opponent - PHI (Thompson) Park - @CHW
FD - 22.26 DK - 16.69
If you're looking to be different and don't want to pay up for Mad-Bum, then go ahead and go with Carlos Rodon. He is a streaky pitcher, but I'm expecting to see the [good] Rodon today.
Today, he draws a nice matchup against a Phillies offense that has struggled against southpaws this season. They own a .113 ISO (28th in MLB), .288 wOBA (29th in MLB) and 22.8 K% (6th in MLB). Not only do they struggle hitting for power, but they also do a lot of fanning. This matchup gives Rodon some serious upside, so I'd go ahead and put him in some GPP lineups.
Opponent - OAK (Manaea) Park - @OAK
FD - 35.92 DK - 23.57
Oh Danny Salazar. You got a matchup that's so juicy, but have been struggling since returning from his elbow injury. This is definitely tricky, but I say if you like him; go ahead and roll the dice on him. The price is right and we all know the upside he has (27.1 K% on the year). The A's have been one of the worse offenses on the year against right-handed pitchers. He's in an excellent position to dominant, especially at the Oakland Coliseum. If you love the adrenaline and risk, go for it. If you don't like it, stick to Rodon.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.
