Bristol Motor Speedway - Bristol, TN
Track - .533 Oval Short Track
24°-30° Banking in the Corners
After what seemed to be an extremely long week off from Sprint Cup series racing, NASCAR returns to Bristol Motor Speedway for the Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race. Teams have now had almost two full weeks to prepare for this final four race run before the Chase. There are currently 12 drivers with a win leaving just four remaining spots with a high chance of a previous winner picking up another win putting huge emphasis on points. This is all assuming Chris Buescher finishes inside the Top 30 in points to be eligible for the Chase with his one win. Here is a look at the bubble watch:
13th - Ryan Newman(562 Points)
14th - Chase Elliott(561 Points)
15th - Austin Dillon(559 Points)
16th -Jamie McMurray(550 Points)
17th - Kyle Larson(520 Points)
18th - Trevor Bayne(512 Points)
19th - Kasey Kahne(509 Points)
20th - Ryan Blaney(502 Points)
Bristol Motor Speedway is a half mile short track best described as a bull ring. It is a track that creates door to door bumping and banging for 500 laps under the lights. While the track has turned more into a two groove track there will still be limited room to move around putting a ton of emphasis on track position. Both practices and Qualifying are set to take place on Friday so be sure to come back Friday night for updates.
The weekend schedule is posted below:
Are looking to get better as fantasy NASCAR but don't have the time to conduct all the research necessary? Check out my DFS NASCAR Cheatsheet which will give you the edge to cash more consistently on DraftKings. The cheatsheet includes driver salaries, current form(Last 5 races), Track History(Last 5 Years), Loop Data, weekly salary trends, and practice and qualifying ranks. I have also created a weighting system which changes weekly and takes in to account all of the things listed previously. I update the practice and qualifying as they happen which changes the overall rankings through the weekend. The cheatsheet will also be final shortly after the final practice. If you purchase the cheatsheet prior to final practice you will receive an email when the final lineup has been set.
If you have any questions about the cheatsheet throw me an email(jagerbombs99@gmail.com) or hit me up on Twitter(@jager_bombs9).
Joey Logano
DraftKings - $10,000
Practice #1 - 18th
Final Practice - 8th
Qualified - 10th
I love Penske cars this weekend but will side with Joey as Brad may have some retaliation coming his way after dumping Martin Truex Jr. at Watkins Glen. Both Penske drivers have two wins and five Top 10 finishes in their last 10 races here and Logano has won back to back night races and led 252 laps. He has two Top 5's and three Top 10's in his last five races and has always qualified well here. He is a top pick in any format this week.
Matt Kenseth
DraftKings - $9,200
Practice #1 - 14th
Final Practice - 3rd
Qualified - 5th
His price came up $1,100 since Watkins Glen but he still remains a value with strong track history and current form checked off. In the last 10 races he has two wins at Bristol with four Top 5's, Five Top 10's and a series best 830 laps led. He has picked up four Top 10's in his last five races with a 51.4 DraftKings points average which is 2nd best to teammate Kyle Busch. At a low $9K price he is safe in all formats this week.
Denny Hamlin
DraftKings - $9,500
Practice #1 - 2nd
Final Practice - 5th
Qualified - 2nd
Without seeing practice I am on board with the Gibbs cars this week. I have already made several GPP lineups with all four of them stacked and feel very confident in the approach. Three of them come in under $10K , all but Hamlin have multiple career wins and the Toyota's have been the team to beat all year long. I am leading Hamlin slightly over Kyle and Carl due to the price and similar recent form as Kyle. They are all safe in any format this week.
Also Consider - Kurt Busch(GPP Play)
Chase Elliott
DraftKings - $8,600
Practice #1 - 4th
Final Practice - 14th
Qualified - 6th
He was impressive in his first Sprint Cup race at Bristol this Spring starting 19th and working his way through the field and overcoming a loose wheel to finish 4th. He sits in a nice position in the standings with four races to go but will want to grab as many points as possible or a win to secure that playoff spot. The current form(3 finishes outside of 30th in last 5 races) will make him a GPP only play this week unless he were to qualify back in the field and show top speed in practice.
Jamie McMurray
DraftKings - $7,600
Practice #1 - 20th
Final Practice - 6th
Qualified - 28th
McMurray is a strong value play this week in the mid $7K range. His price has dropped $300 from last week and he enters this race with nice track history and 2nd best five race DraftKings points average(34.6) in the tier. Over the last 10 races at Bristol, McMurray has one Top 5 and four Top 10 finishes. He is safe in any format.
Also Consider - Ryan Newman(Cash Game Play)
Trevor Bayne
DraftKings - $6,200
Practice #1 - 28th
Final Practice - 24th
Qualified - 222nd
He is my top value play this week before seeing practice and qualifying. In three career races he one Top 5 finish and an impressive 16.0 average finish for a young driver. Coming into this race he sits 38 points behind the cut line if Chris Buescher is to make up the three points he needs to use his win to occupy a playoff position. Look for the #6 Roush Fenway Racing team to give Bayne everything he needs to contend in this race.
Also Consider - Cole Whitt(29 DK pt average over last 5 races)
Qualifying Top 10
