Workhorse, John Lackey, will be going up against his former team (Cardinals) today! In three games against them this season, he has been able to deliver a quality start for his squad in each of those meetings. What did you expect from the veteran?! He's a workhorse.

Lackey has not lost a beat at the age of 37. He is coming into today's contest sporting a 3.73 xFIP to go along with jaw dropping 25.7 K%. This kid -- I mean man, has been dominant this season and look for him to bring a little something extra to the table against the Red Birds. The Cubs are heavily favored in this contest, so you have to like his chances of picking up the win.

Opponent - ARI (Greinke) Park - @BOS
FD - 32.48 DK - 21.23

Rick Porcello has been a man on a mission and has shocked the world this year. He owns a 3.40 ERA on the year to go along with a 1.08 WHIP and 16.9 K-BB%. He has been excellent for the Red Sox this season and is a guy to consider plugging into your DFS rosters today.

He will be going up against the D'Backs who have been struggling as of late. In the last 30 days, they possess a .302 wOBA (23rd in MLB) 81 wRC+ (25th in MLB) and 23.2 K% (4th-highest in MLB). They have been down in recent weeks, so go ahead and pickup Porcello, who will be pitching in front of the home-crowd today.

Opponent - HOU (Fiers) Park - @TOR
FD - 32.48 DK - 21.38

Marcus Stroman has a nice price tag across the industry today and draws up a matchup against the Astros. The Astros are either really good or really bad, so this is more of a GPP play for me. Stroman has been stellar this season. I know he owns an ERA over four, but his peripherals suggest otherwise. He is boasting a 3.43 xFIP and 3.60 SIERA (both are better than Lackey's and Porcello's SIERA and xFIP).

Stroman has been good this season and like I mentioned, he's a tournament play. The reason why I'd go ahead and roll the dice against the streaky Astros is because of the ceiling this matchup provides him. The Astros have the 4th-highest K% on the year; so don't be surprised if Stroman is flirting with double-digit strikeout numbers today.
