Pitching Targets

Looking at the PTS/$ values at the pitcher position today we see Francisco Liriano creeping up the list on both sites. He will be making his second start for his new team(Jays) tonight and will get a nice matchup to be able to wrack up some fantasy points. It has been a rocky season for Liriano who sits with an awful 4.49 xFIP and very high 5.34 BB/9 rate. He has continued to show elite strikeout upside with a 9.10 K/9 rate and should get a boost in that respect tonight vs. the Astros who strikeout 22.7% of the time. He Jays are currently -125 home favorites with the offense projected to score close to five runs. If Liriano can limit the walks he could be in for a big night in daily fantasy. He is in play on both sites for tournaments, providing a huge salary relief to stack all the bats.

FD - 33.46 DK - 21.76

The price for Carrasco on FanDuel is about right tonight it seems DraftKings has made a mistake. Carrasco is not the type of pitcher that should be in the same range as Liriano, Manaea, Rodon, Nova and Sabathia.  Despite that one awful start where he give up eight earned runs to the Twins he has been pitching very well this season.  The win totals are not there but as we all know wins are very hard to predict and even harder to record. In 17 starts he has pitched to a 3.17 ERA with an above average strikeout rate(8.44 K/9). The matchup is also in his favor as the Angels have been ice cold lately ranking 28th in wOBA(.241) and wRC+(52) over the past 7 days. On DraftKings he is safe in all formats and makes a nice pivot off Price and Strasburg on FanDuel for tournaments.
