Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
St.Louis Cardinals vs. Brandon Finnegan (Reds)
Park - Great American Ballpark (hitter park)
Starting off in the early slate, we are going to take a look at the St.Louis Cardinals. They will be facing off with one of my favorite pitchers in the league to target, Brandon Finnegan. Finnegan is absolutely atrocious, especially against righties. In 89 innings, Finnegan has given up a league leading 21 home runs to right handers. That number is unfathomably horrible. When you are behind Wei-Yin Chen in home runs allowed, you have a serious problem and need to fix it. Fast. Hopefully that fix won't come here against the Cardinals as they are definitely my favorite option on the slate. While the Cardinals are very beat up, most of the right handers are healthy and that is who we will be targeting in this lineup. While my 4 favorite are in the heart of the lineup, I think there is a ton of different ways to go. As a note, the Reds bullpen is the absolute worst in the league and please do not talk about how they are better since the all-star break. 8 guys did not just magically get better as a whole.
Main stack - Thomas Pham, Jedd Gyorko, Stephen Piscotty, Matt Holliday
Sneaky stack - Jedd Gyorko, Stephen Piscotty, Jhonny Peralta
Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Tyrell Jenkins
Park - Turner Field (slight pitcher park)
Moving onto the main or late slate, we are going to take a look at the Pittsburgh Pirates. The Pirates come in as my favorite stack of the day ahead of both the teams in Coors Field. The Pirates will be facing off with Tyrell Jenkins, a right handed gas can that has been absolutely atrocious against both right handers and left handers. Against righties, though it has only been 17 innings, has given up a .390 wOBA to go along with 4 home runs and a 37.1% hard contact rate. The Pirates on the other hand, have been swinging the bats much better lately and will look to continue that today. While Andrew McCutchen is going to miss this game, that will enter Matt Joyce, who hits righties extremely well. While there is no reason to get too cute, there is always a reason to go super contrarian in large field tournaments.
Main stack - Gregory Polanco, Jung-ho Kang, Starling Marte, Matt Joyce
Sneaky stack - Adam Frazier, Starling Marte, Jung-ho Kang, Francisco Cervelli
Los Angeles Dodgers vs. Tyler Chatwood
Park - Coors Field (extreme hitter park)
While the Los Angeles Dodgers are going to be the highest owned stack, they probably should be. Sure, Tyler Chatwood is a pretty good pitcher. However, he has been absolutely horrible at home in the hitter haven that is Coors Field. At home in 55 innings, Chatwood has sported a .368 wOBA to go along with a 31.9% hard contact rate. Against lefties in particular, he has given up a .365 wOBA that is backed up by batted ball rates and peripheral stats. The Dodgers on the other hand, have added Josh Reddick who is a huge improvement from the likes of Howie Kendrick and Joc Pederson. As I mentioned, the Dodgers are going to be very highly owned. How do you get around that? You go with a stack that is going to include some lower owned hitters.
Main stack - Corey Seager, Justin Turner, Josh Reddick, Adrian Gonzalez
Sneaky stack - Corey Seager, Adrian Gonzalez, Justin Turner, Joc Pederson

What do you think about a Reds stack
Not so happy about that Cardinals stack right now. Ya'll do good sometimes, not so good others. Today is a bad day for the Cardinals and Finnegan has doused the Cardinals.
I agree bad call today
This is baseball. All available metrics implied that as a stack. Variance in baseball is nuts. I'd stack Card 10/10 times in this situation.
Agreed, if every day were this rough, nobody would follow this site
