Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
*Below are three options if you are looking to stack a team outside of Coors Field as the Dodgers and Rockies will once again be chalky plays*
Chicago Cubs vs. Tom Koehler (Marlins)
Park - Wrigley Field
It's a quiet afternoon with just three games but very intriguing from a DFS standpoint with an elite pitcher in Max Scherzer on the mound and a few top stacking options to consider. The Cubs are one of those teams to strongly consider stacking in the early or all day slates. They rank 8th in wOBA and walk(10.9%) more than any other team vs. right handed pitching. This is a great sign as they will be going up against Tom Koehler who has always struggled with his control and is walking a career high 4.26 batters per nine innings. He has average strikeout upside(7.03 K/9) but also carries an xFIP of 4.85 which is worse than his already bad 4.18 ERA. Look for the Cubs to get a ton of opportunities to blow the game wide open.
Top Hitters in Stack - Dexter Fowler, Kris Bryant, Anthony Rizzo, Ben Zobrist
Value Hitters in Stack - Willson Contreras, Jason Heyward
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Cody Reed (Reds)
Park - Great American Ballpark
The Cardinals have lost three straight games on the road but still sit with the second best road record in the National League. They will be in a great spot to snap out of the slump tonight in Cincinnati vs. a struggling southpaw Cody Reed. Over his first seven major league starts Reed has shown the ability to strike batters out with a high 9.34 K/9 rate but control just hasn't caught up yet as the walk rate sits just above three and half walks per nine. While the 7.07 ERA isn't as bad as the 3.85 xFIP suggests he is giving up a 40% hard contact rate which has lead to a awful 32.3% HR/FB rate. The Cards have right handed bats scattered throughout their lineup and they come at very affordable prices on both sites.
Top Hitters in Stack - Matt Holliday, Stephen Piscotty, Jedd Gyorko
Value Hitters in Stack - Jhonny Peralta, Yadier Molina
Cleveland Indians vs. Tyler Duffey (Twins)
Park - Progressive Field
Don't let the Indians from the last few days cloud your judgement today. While their pitching completely let us down they still managed to score 11 runs in the first two games of the series and rank 6th overall in total runs scored(516) this season. The are once again projected to score over 5 runs today in one of the best matchups on the evening slate. They will go up against gas can Tyler Duffey who despite showing some signs of dominance throughout the season, has been extremely poor overall. He is pitching to 4.01 xFIP with an average K rate just over seven per nine and is getting hit extremely hard with a 19.3% HR/FB rate. To put his season in to perspective, Duffey has allowed four earned runs or more in 11 of his 17 starts. That is bad! Load up on Indians tonight.
Top Hitters in Stack - Carlos Santana, Jason Kipnis, Francisco Lindor, Mike Napoli
Value Hitters in Stack - Lonnie Chisenhall, Jose Ramirez

Cleveland Again that's funny, Maybe we should do the opposite on that prediction the way its been going. LOL
This is talking about stacking Cleveland hitters, not pitching. Did you see the indians hitting stats the last two games?
Cubs getting shutout through 5. they have been terrible.
