Pitching Targets
Anthony DeSclafani FD 8100 DK 9400
Opponent - SD (Friedrich) Park - @SD
FD - 29.4 DK - 19.59
The San Diego Padres are heading back to Petco Park and we are going to go with them. The Padres have been atrocious at home against right handers on the season with a league low .298 wOBA to go along with a high strikeout rate and a low line drive rate. The Padres will be facing off with Anthony DeSclafani, a right handed youngster that has been rather impressive since entering the starting rotation. He has been extremely dominant against righties in particular as he has sported a .232 wOBA that is backed up by a 9 K/9 and a 3.38 xFIP. While I certainly prefer the guys we mentioned in the main article, DeSclafani is certainly a guy to consider in tournaments, especially on FanDuel where he is only $8100. He is still in play on DraftKings and the higher price will equate to a lower ownership, which is always good in large field tournaments. .
Scott Kazmir FD 8900 DK 8600
Opponent - ARI (Shipley) Park - @LAD
FD - 37.32 DK - 24.25
Scott Kazmir is a guy I considered putting into the main article and ended up leaving him out as the Diamondbacks have a ton of right handed bats. That being said, he definitely has the upside with the game taking place in the pitcher friendly Dodgers Stadium. Kazmir has been great this season with a sub .300 combined wOBA. To go along with the spectacular wOBA, he has sported a phenomenal 23% hard contact rate and a 16.5% HR/FB rate, which will go down and bring his numbers with it. The Diamondbacks on the other hand, have struggled a bit against lefties on the road with a .312 wOBA and a 22.6% strikeout rate. While Kazmir is a tournament only option, he is a great one at that.
Nathan Eovaldi FD 7200 DK 6900
Opponent - TB (Smyly) Park - @TB
FD - 28.95 DK - 19.28
Nathan Eovaldi is a very polarizing pitcher as he has the stuff to be dominant, but lacks the overall skill of pitching to solidify his "stuff" into production. That being said, he still has his outbursts where he dominates and this game could be one of those. He will be moving into pitcher friendly ballpark and those 350 foot right field will be flyouts instead of home runs, which he gives up a lot of. The Tampa Bay Rays strikeout a ton against right handers as evident by the 25.8% K rate thus far in 2016. While Eovaldi is nowhere near a cash game play, he makes for a very interesting cheap shot in tournaments as he has plenty of strikeout upside.
