A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Texas Rangers vs. Edinson Volquez (Royals)
Park - Globe Life Park in Arlington
The Rangers are an exciting ball club that all of a sudden features a bunch of power in their lineup. There’s a ton to like about this matchup today. For starters, Edinson Volquez is a low-K, high-BB arm with a mid 4’s xFIP. The Park in Arlington rates out as one of the best in the game for bats and boosts power to all sides of the plate. And then there’s the Ranger lineup. I’m loving guys like Jurickson Profar and Nomar Mazara hitting at the top of the lineup (assuming Texas doesn't jostle things around too much) with righty pitching as their better splits. Ian Desmond’s putting together a fantastic fantasy season and recent call up Joey Gallo has a ton of power (though he k’s in bunches). The prices on the Rangers, especially on FanDuel, make for great stacks and will likely be heavy cash game plays as well.
San Diego Padres vs. Brandon Finnegan (Reds)
Park - Petco Park
I hate the ballpark so let’s start there. Petco traditionally plays as a pitcher’s park and it’s always tough to string together big games where power is diminished. But I do think the Padres are in a great spot here and their prices are low enough that we can take a shot on the upside in a tournament. Brandon Finnegan is a weak lefty with a putrid 5.25 xFIP through 111 innings this season and a K rate less than seven per nine. He also walks the ballpark. The Padres have righty power at the top of their lineup with Wil Myers and Matt Kemp leading the way. And while the rest of the their lineup doesn’t feature a ton more righties, the additions of Alex Dickerson and Ryan Schimpf make it tough for the Reds (already bad) bullpen to play matchup ball late innings.
Houston Astros vs. Matt Boyd (Tigers)
Park - Comerica Park
The Astros have been red hot lately jumping right up into the mix for the American League Wildcard and now sit just a half game back of the Red Sox and 1.5 back of the Blue Jays. Over the last 14 days they lead baseball with a .346 wOBA and sit second in ISO(.220) and wRC+(116). Their lineup is loaded with young talent that is headlined by Jose Altuve, Carlos Correa, and George Springer who come with a nice combo of power and speed and should make up the core of your stack. Marwin Gonzalez can always be considered as he hits out of the two hole between Springer and Altuve. Gonzalez is also hot right now riding a 11 game hit streak into tonight. If you are looking for additional power to add to your stack today, strongly consider Evan Gattis who provides big power upside against left handed pitching and normally hits in the five hole.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Yesterday you said to not even try to get “cute” by fading the Red Sox and listed every reason they will produce. Like thousands of people I’m sure, I took your advice and rolled out 100 stacks of 4 or 5 BoSox players along with other random players. I already had 100 random Phillies stacks created (with higher exposure to the top 6 in the lineup even!!) against that scrub of a pitcher, Wisler, but you made me rethink it. I got back $54 on my $300 investment in the DK $3 GPP. You know why I won $54? Because I did not use your main pitcher Fernandez at all who got 14 points, but instead used Ubaldo for a third of the price that got me over 20 points. I also had two of the other top 3 scoring pitchers on the night. This means with your pick, Fernandez, I probably would have won $0. 100 stacks of 4 Phillies and the correct pitcher choices? I can’t fathom any way I wouldn’t have placed very high (or won) and made a ton of cash. Especially when my exposure to Orlando and Prado was very high showing up in 70% of my lineups right along with the Phillies players. I wish when you made picks, you weren’t SO PERSUASIVE like you’d bet the farm on it. It influences people into making poor decisions sometimes. Please just make your picks, state your case for them, and don’t threaten us with what will happen if we don’t listen to you, which I have seen you do many times. Lesson learned which I already know from experience, but disregarded due to the confidence of a guy that I know has often been wrong: When you are MOST confident in a player or stack, that’s when I should really be scared lol. Is it my fault for changing the 100 lineups? Absolutely. Just glad I can afford it!
I'm confused by this comment. Are you upset with the verbiage or the actual advice?
In addition the chat room is free and public until the owner Doug Norrie Ejects or bounces you from it because you do not agree with him. Legitimate sites allow difference of opinions. Just some words to the wise before you waste time and money on this low-budget site
22 so-called Expert suggested picks from this site 0n 7/28/16 and only 3 players produced mediocre fantasy points. In fact some didn’t even play. IMO they are not experts, they are just trying to get you to pay money to them. Try a more legit site for advice.
Thanks for spamming the comments. I replied in one of the other many times you copy and pasted the same comment.
It's like a used car salesman.....Fast talks and brags how good he is to slam you into the car and laugh at you on his way to the bank.......Suckers
Keep your comments to yourself jerkey until you get off your high horse and get real and polite.
Maybe you can scurry to take down the comments so you can hide them from the truth.
Is it a wonder you weren't welcome in chat? Just proving my case in the comments really. Will have to take them down eventually if it continues on this path as they aren't a value add for our readers. Feel free to email me doug@dailyfantasysportsrankings.com
PERSONALLY I LOVE THE WEBSITE MADE ME OVER 150,000... MAYBE U SHOULD PUT TOGETHER BETTER LINEUPS
