Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Stack Targets

Toronto Blue Jays vs. James Paxton (Mariners)
Park - Rogers Centre

I wrote about the Jays for Wednesday's game against the D Backs and Patrick Corbin and boy did they ever pay off with 10 runs including a pool shot from Josh Donaldson. I am going back to the well again today as the Jays welcome the Mariners to town for a weekend series. Game one has the Jays pitted against another southpaw in James Paxton who just hasn't been able to get it together this season. In nine starts he has allowed 72 hits in 53.1 innings pitched and holds a 4.53 ERA and the xFIP of 3.81 suggests his numbers are not going to improve much going forward. He has limited the long ball(8% HR/FB rate) this year but could get into trouble tonight vs. the left smashing Jays who have quickly jumped up the ranks of team batting vs. southpaws. They now rank 8th in wOBA(.332) on the season and carry a 105 wRC+ against lefties into tonight's matchup. Look for some fireworks and a short outing from Paxton.

Cleveland Indians vs. Dylan Bundy (Orioles)
Park - Oriole Park at Camden Yards

The Indians have been rolling offensively since being clobbered by the Jays 17-1 back on July 4th. In the 13 games since they have scored 82 runs which works out to over six runs per game. They rank 6th overall in total runs scored with 472 on the season and also rank 6th in wOBA.334) and 2nd in ISO(.196) vs. right handed pitching. They will face off against the Orioles and Dylan Bundy who will get the ball in game one of the weekend series. Bundy had spent the first half of the season coming out of pen and will now be making the second of back to back starts tonight. He was hit hard in his first start allowing five hits(3 HR) to the Rays in just 3.1 innings pitched. The ERA may look appealing at 3.70 but take a deeper look and his 5.14 xFIP suggest things might get worse if he sticks in the rotation much longer. Take advantage and load up on the Indians tonight.
