Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Detroit Tigers vs.Ricky Nolasco (MIN)
The Tigers will be going up against right-hander, Ricky Nolasco. He isn't a guy that gives up a ton of homers (1.27 HR/9), but does give up a ton of runs. He owns an ERA just over five to go along with a 4.34 xFIP. The other reason why I love the Tigers in the matchup is because Nolasco is a guy that pitches to contact. He owns an 18.4 K% and going up against a Tigers' ballclub that owns a .328 wOBA (9th in MLB) against right-handed pitchers won't help his cause. I know everyone will be attacking Coors, but this is definitely a nice pivot.
Tampa Bay Rays vs. Tyler Anderson(COL)
For some reason everyone is all over the Rockies, but I'm looking at the other direction. Let's go Rays! No I'm not a Rays' fan, but I love the spot they are in tonight.
They will be leaving spacious Tropicana Field and taking their talents to Denver, Colorado. We all know the type of damage occurs when we have games at Coors, so don't sleep on the Rays. Who cares if they aren't favored to win this contest -- they look so good. Why I love them so much you may be asking yourself? And it's because they will be going up against, Tyler Anderson.
I'm not going to lie; Tyler Anderson has been phenomenal for the Rockies. He owns a 3.03 ERA with a 17.5 K-BB%, but he's a southpaw and the Rays' destroy lefties. They own a .343 wOBA (5th in MLB) and .189 ISO (5th in MLB), so don't be surprised if Anderson finds himself in some trouble in this contest.
The Rockies are the top stack of the night, but don't sleep on the Rays either.
Houston Astros vs Kendall Graveman (OAK)
Looking for a low-owned or late-night stack? Then look no further than the Houston Astros. They will be going up against right-handed pitcher, Kendall Graveman, who owns a 4.37 ERA to go along with a 4.60 xFIP. The kid has struggled this season and going up against the Houston Astros certainly won't help. Sure, he delivered a quality start his last time (and happened to be against this Astros' squad), but the Astros know him well (faced him last time and same division), so look for them to put on a show. They are top 10 in wOBA and ISO against right-handed pitchers, so go ahead and get some revenge on the 25-year-old!
