New Hampshire 301

New Hampshire Motor Speedway - Loudon, New Hampshire
Track - 1.058 Mile Oval Intermediate
Banking - 12° Banking in the Turns

Welcome back for another exciting week of NASCAR racing as the Sprint Cup series heads to Loudon, New Hampshire this weekend. It is a very exciting time for the sports as drivers will be facing a different style of track for the 6th straight week starting back at Pocono, Michigan, Sonoma, Daytona, Kentucky and now New Hampshire. The track is a 1.058 mile oval flat track that can be best compared to Phoenix and is also similar to Richmond and Martinsville in that they are all flat. Passing will tough and drivers will be forced to use a ton of brakes to get through the 12° banked corners. Not only will track history at New Hampshire be very relevant but I will also look at recent track history form other flat tracks, specifically Phoenix. Track position is extremely important this so I will be weighting qualifying quite high. There has not been a winner who has started outside of 13th in since Denny Hamlin won from the 32nd starting position back in September 2012. Before we get into the picks for this week let's take a look back at the finish to last years New Hampshire 301 where we witnessed one of the best passes in a long time(In my biased Kyle Busch fan opinion).

Are looking to get better as fantasy NASCAR but don't have the time to conduct all the research necessary? Check out my DFS NASCAR Cheatsheet which will give you the edge to cash more consistently on DraftKings. The cheatsheet includes driver salaries, current form(Last 5 races), Track History(Last 5 Years), Loop Data, weekly salary trends,  and practice and qualifying ranks. I have also created a weighting system which changes weekly and takes in to account all of the things listed previously. I update the practice and qualifying as they happen which changes the overall rankings through the weekend. The cheatsheet will also be final shortly after the final practice. If you purchase the cheatsheet prior to final practice you will receive an email when the final lineup has been set.

If you have any questions about the cheatsheet throw me an email(jagerbombs99@gmail.com) or hit me up on Twitter(@jager_bombs9).

Upper Tier Targets ($9,000+)

Kyle Busch
DraftKings - $10,500
First Practice - 3rd
Second Practice - 7th
Final Practice - 5th
Qualified - 2nd

I couldn't make you watch that video and talk up the #18 and not put him as my top guy this week. After a tough stretch of four races Kyle is trending back in the right direction with a 7th at Sonoma, 2nd at Daytona and a 12th at Kentucky last week where he ran inside the Top 5 for most of the race. Over the last five years(10 races) Kyle has grabbed a win with four Top 5's and five Top 10's and is one of only four drivers to lead over 300 laps in that time.

Brad Keselowski
DraftKings - $10,300
First Practice - 11th
Second Practice - 8th
Final Practice - 6th
Qualified - 9th

Could he make it three straight wins this week? You bet he can. No one is hotter than Brad Keselowski right now who has back to back wins and a Top 10 in eight of his last nine races. He is also pretty good here at New Hampshire. In the the last 10 races he has a win, five Top 5's, seven Top 10's, 344 laps led and a series best 8.5 average finish. Crack a Miller Lite on Sunday and enjoy watching the deuce drive off into victory lane and pad your bankroll.

Denny Hamlin
DraftKings - $9,500
First Practice - 5th
Second Practice - 2nd
Final Practice - 2nd
Qualified - 5th

His salary took a big jump from last week but that won't scare me off one of the best flat track drivers in NASCAR. Hamlin comes back to New Hampshire with some nice track history over the past five years. He has a win, four Top 5's, five Top 10's and 12.9 average finish. He has also led the series in laps led with 416 during those 10 races. The price jump and recent form have me fading him in cash games but I love his upside for the GPP's this week.

Also Consider - Kevin Harvick

Middle Tier Targets ($6,500-$9,000)

Kyle Larson
DraftKings - $8,500
First Practice - 25th
Second Practice - 10th
Final Practice - 11th
Qualified - 17th

In this price range it comes down to Austin Dillon or Kyle Larson. I sided with Larson as he has better current form(10.2 average finish last 5 races) and a better track record here at New Hampshire. Both came into the Sprint Cup series at the same time and have four races under their belts. While Dillon has one Top 10, Larson has two Top 5 finishes and a 13.3 average finish. I will pay the $200 more and ride with Larson this week in all formats.

Greg Biffle
DraftKings - $6,600
First Practice - 34th
Second Practice - 15th
Final Practice - 19th
Qualified - 28th

Biffle is currently enjoying his best stretch of the season after an awful start to 2016. He has back to back Top 10's at Kentucky and Daytona and has a Top 20 finish in five of his last six races. I will take that with a mid $6K price tag. He is another driver who has enjoyed some success here at New Hampshire. In the last 10 races he has three Top 5's and four Top 10's with the 7th best average finish(12.8) in the field. Take advantage while the price is still below $7K.

Also Consider - Ryan Newman

Low End Targets ($6,500 and Below)

Trevor Bayne
DraftKings - $6,400
First Practice - 28th
Second Practice - 28th
Final Practice - 25th
Qualified - 31st

It is tough picking down here with few drivers with even average track history or form this week. I will again lean on Trevor Bayne who is also enjoying his best stretch of the season. He finished 11th at Kentucky, 3rd at Daytona and has five Top 15's in his last seven races. Pair him with his Roush Fenway Racing teammate Biffle for a great start to a GPP lineup leaving you a ton of salary to just about anything.

Also Consider - Aric Almirola

  • I will be lowering my exposure to Biffle unless he shows some speed in the final two practices tomorrow.

  • Hi Chris - I just wanted to let you know that your NASCAR article is actually located under the PGA picks tab.

  • Jeepers Chris I can't stand Kyle Busch but i won't hold that against you, and I sure can't argue with him being the top pick this week. He may get and in the lead and pull a Martin Truex Jr and just rack up the laps led. Great pics man. Keep up the good work

  • @Ryan LOL. I don't know many people who do like him. My friends continue to bet against me due to their hate. Hahaha

  • Brian Scott has some low end potential for stars and scrubs. Starting 33rd and 26th/21st in final two practices.
