Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Stack Targets
*The obvious pick here is going to be the Rockies/Jays game so I won't dig into it too much. Coors Field has seen over 16 runs per game scored over the last six games. No reason to fade here*
Detroit Tigers vs. Tom Koehler (Marlins)
Park - Comerica Park
If you are looking for a another team to fade outside of Coors I would start with the Tigers who are projected for over five runs as home favorites today. They mathcup against the Marlins and Tom Koehler who is coming off his worst outing since the beginning of May. He has average K upside(7.61 K/9) but absolutely zero control (4.93 BB/9) and has a zFIP of4.82 which is 80 points higher than his 4.07 ERA. Before last game where he got beat up by the Cubs he faced a pretty weak schedule with a game at home to the Rockies and matchups vs. the Padres, Twins, Mets, Braves, Rays, and Phillies before that. The Tigers own a Top 11 offense when looking at total runs scored and they rank 9th in wOBA(.329) vs. right handed pitching. Miguel Cabrera is just too cheap around the industry for the quality of hitter you get, making him my top option followed by Ian Kinsler leading off, V Mart and Nick Castellanos. I would even take a punt shot with James McCann if he starts at catcher.
New York Yankees vs. Nick Martinez (Rangers)
Park - Yankee Stadium
Looking at the evening slate I am going to be all over the Yankees. They hit in a plus hitters park, especially for left handed bats, and get an elite matchup vs. Nick Martinez and the Rangers. Martinez is one of those pitchers who should not be in the majors. His walk rate(4.85 BB/9) is higher than his strikeout rate(3.46 K/9) which blows my mind how they keep throwing him out there. He has made two starts after opening the season in the bullpen and has give up seven earned runs including two long balls. The xFIP of 6.59 is also much higher than the already awful 5.54 ERA. He has given up a .383 wOBA to RH bats and .415 wOBA to LH bats so feel free to stack bats from both sides of the plate. My favorite way to go is the stacking the top of the order in Ellsbury, Gardner, A Rod, Tex, and McCann.
Also Consider - Washington Nationals vs. Logan Verrett (Mets)

Not liking the COL or TOR stacks as much as usual. Both team’s pitchers have been quite solid this year so far. Also, most of the hitters will be playing on extra short rest since last night’s game went so late and is being followed up by an early day game today. Not saying some runs won’t be scored, but I’m picking today to fade most of the players. Anyone else sensing this too?
