Top Tournament Stacks
Rockies and Blue Jays
This is kind of obvious, but the top stacks of the day are the Blue Jays and Rockies. This game features two power-hitting teams. They are both top 10 in SLG and ISO this season and have also hit righties well. Not only are they one of the best power-hitting teams in the league, but they will also be playing at Coors Field. In case you didn't know, Coors Field is every hitters dream. The ball flies out of the bat in a hurry and is the friendliest park to hitters. These two squads are the clear-cut top stacks of the night. 11.5 run-total is very hard to ignore.
Rangers
Alright if you're trying to get away from Coors Field, I like the idea of stacking the Rangers. I know they were the chalk stacks a few times last week and didn't come through for us, but remember, we can't hold grudges and need a short memory (like Dory from Finding Nemo/Dory.
The Rangers aren't a team that demolishes righties (15th in wOBA), but playing at Yankee Stadium (hitter-friendly park) and going up against Ivan Nova will certainly help. On the year, Nova owns a 5.18 ERA to go along with a 4.94 FIP. Things haven't gone his way this season, especially as of late. In his last six starts, he has allowed a total of 26 runs (4.33 runs per game). Nova has been bad this season, so go ahead and stack the Rangers. I know it's hard to get away from Coors, but this is a nice stack that will allow you to pay up for Jake Arrieta.
The "Every Lineup" Guys
Edwin Encarnacion FD 4800 DK 5500
Opponent - COL (Gray) Park - @COL
FD - 16.41 DK - 12.35
Carlos Gonzalez FD 4100 DK 5300
Opponent - TOR (Estrada) Park - @COL
FD - 14.23 DK - 10.9
If I had to take a guess, these two guys are going to be the highest owned players on the night. They will both be playing at Coors and have some serious power. They both own an ISO over .270 for their career against righties and are one of the top players on their teams. There are a lot of different options from this game, but I think these two guys will be the "chalk play" for their respective teams.
Sneaky Pitcher
Joe Ross FD 8100 DK 9500
Opponent - NYM (Syndergaard) Park - @WSH
FD - 32.38 DK - 17.08
A lot of solid mid-tier options, but everyone is leaving Joe Ross hanging. I know he will be going up against Syndergaard which will make it tough for him to pick up the win, but you got to love the spot he's in.
He will be going up against a Mets' team that has struggled against righties. They own a .307 wOBA (20th in MLB) to go along with a 22.8 K% (7th in MLB). I know Joe Ross has been a bit inconsistent this season, but you have to love his matchup tonight and the upside it provides him with. He is a solid SP2 option tonight.
