What We Know
Personnel
- Joey Votto made a pinch hit appearance last night and should be back in the starting lineup on Friday
- Carlos Gonzalez left the game late on Thursday and is considered day to day with a wrist injury. It appears it is nothing major but stay tuned for the Rockies lineup prior to lineup lock
- Vincent Velasquez made his one scheduled rehab start Wednesday and will join the rotation after the weekend and will most likely start on Monday
- The Cubs are monitoring Anthony Rizzo as he missed his second straight game on Thursday due to back stiffness. It is unknown at this time if he will rejoin the lineup tonight
- It is likely that the Twins Byung-ho Park will be optioned to Triple-A in the coming days as he is slumping currently with just two hits in his previous eight games
- Manny Machado has completed his four game suspension and will re join the Orioles on Friday night
- Yoenis Cespedes appears to be fine after receiving a Cortisone Shot and taking the night off on Thursday. He is dealing with a sprained wrist
- Stay tuned to see if Starlin Marte will enter the starting lineup today after serving a bench player and pinch hitting the last two days due to foot soreness
The "Every Lineup" Guys
Note: We're doing something a little different in this section today and recommending a pair of punt options. The optimizer is all over these guys on their respective sites, and using them will obviously allow you a lot more lineup flexibility as you try to fit in some top stacking options.
**Warning** The below picks are for large field GPP consideration only as there is a ton of risk that comes with them*
Prince Fielder FD 2400 DK 2100
Opponent - BOS (Price) Park - @TEX
FD - 8.67 DK - 6.57
To start off, this pick is nowhere near safe and should not be used in cash games whatsoever. Fielder is having an awful start to the season hitting just .205 with five home runs and 36 RBI. The struggles have caused his price on both sits to reach minimum pricing which presents some value. The matchup isn't ideal vs. David Price but the game total is one of the highest of the slate(9.5) and Fielder allows you to stack the rest of your lineup with high floor/upside players to pair with Scherzer today.
Tyler Anderson FD 6000 DK 6800
Opponent - ARI (Bradley) Park - @COL
FD - 22.52 DK - 9.47
If you can't stomach taking on big risks to try and capitalize on big returns you should stop reading now! The Rockies rookie pitcher will be making his third start of the season and has been relatively impressive so far. He has only allowed three earned runs in 12 innings pitched while striking out 10 and walking just one. One of those starts was also in Coors so he has that out of the way. This game has the highest total of the slate and targeting pitchers at Coors can be a death wish but he will be 1% owned in tournaments and if the D Backs fail at offense today you are going to be way ahead of the field. Don't go allin by any means but it is definitely worth the risk in a few GPP's if you are running multiple lineups.
