Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Houston Astros vs. Hector Santiago (LAA)
Hector Santiago is either really good or really bad (bad more often times than good), so I'm going to go ahead and stack the Astros. They have a bunch of right-handed bats that smash lefties: Carlos Gomez, Jose Altuve, George Springer and Carlos Correa. All four guys have serious power, which makes them a great stack for tournaments.
Hector Santiago has just been bad this season. His ERA and FIP are well over 5 to go along with a 1.73 HR/9. Now you see why I love the Astros tonight? Santiago isn't a pitcher that keeps the ball on the ground, which is why he is always in trouble. And with all the power this Astros lineup has, I see him in trouble yet again. The Astros are my top stack of the night.
N.Y. Yankees vs. Chad Bettis(COL)
There is some good news and some bad new for the right-hander. So let's start with the good news -- which is that this game will not take place at Coors Field. So what exactly is the bad news you may be asking yourself? And it's that this game will be taking place at Yankee Stadium (which is very generous to hitters). Bettis gets away from one of the worse ballparks in the league to pitch in and travels to another one. This guy just can't catch a break, and to make things worse for Bettis, I am going to stack against him.
The Yankees bats aren't very good, but they are a much better team hitting at home and Chad Bettis is a bad pitcher. He owns a 4.51 FIP to go along with a 1.46 WHIP. I know the Yankees have been bad, but don't sleep on them tonight. They should have plenty of opportunities to cash in on Bettis' mistake on the mound.
Texas Rangers vs Anthony DeSclafani (CIN)
Anthony DeSclafani only has two starts under his belt since coming off injury, so it's going to take some time to get comfortable on the mound again and find his groove. With that being said, I think it is the perfect opportunity to grab some Rangers' bats. They have hit right-handed pitchers well and will be going u against one who still has some dust in his arm. The Rangers own a .316 wOBA (13th in MLB) and .167 ISO (14th in MLB). They have been one of the best offenses in baseball and getting Profar and Choo back into their lineup has given them that extra push they needed. Watch out for Texas tonight.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Love the Astros stack with Kluber.
Anyone liking the O's stack? Just worried about weather a little.
Any way to consider Bettis? He did get 39 points last time he played the Yanks at Col...
Love this hitters stack posting, wait for it everyday, thanks so much. Helps on team totals too,if you know what i mean..
Hitter stacks have been the fuel for the optimizer. I'm on Houston,Texas and Boston with Kluber at the forefront.
The weather is what worries me as well. They are in play though.
And I just don't trust Bettis...
What you think about a Miami stack vs Norris (Atl)
Don't know how you can leave out stacking the Orioles against Perdomo - the guy is simply a gascan ....I think a Trumbo,Jones,Crush Davis stack is in play - perhaps Weiters as well
I was just looking at them as a possible stack...hopefully the rain (chances) do clear up by game time.
What about the Chicago White Sox tonight
I know the Rockies have different splits on the road but what if you tried to stack both sides of this game, you trade Coors for Yankees stadium AND the wind is blowing out???
Well this didn't turn out so well today! I'm a new mlb dfs player and I can't help but be convinced that this game is a complete crap shoot!
Skill is much less a factor here than football from what I've seen.
Anyone able to make a valid case otherwise!?
