A quick heads up - we post an updates article every day in the early afternoon, EST, to catch everyone up on how things are changing as a result of whatever news has come through. We also have great talks in the comments of that article. Hope to see you there!
Opponent - COL (Bettis) Park - @MIA
FD - 10.33 DK - 7.76
Giancarlo Stanton is slowly getting back to form. He has six hits in his last three and has only punched out twice. Those are some appealing numbers for the $300,000,000 man and it looks like he is slowing heading into the right direction. Although he's 6-for-12 in his last three, they have all been singles -- but that will change tonight! You know why that's going to change? It's because he's going to do some yard work! He's going to hit a mammoth of a home run and show everyone that he's back!
He will be going up against southpaw Jorge De La Rosa, which means he has the platoon advantage. Since 2014, Stanton owns a .432 wOBA and .344 ISO against southpaws. This guy has tremendous power and look for him to showcase it tonight.
Opponent - CLE (Tomlin) Park - @CLE
FD - 8.63 DK - 6.63
We just talked about a guy who has been struggling this season, but now let's talk about a guy who has been fire. And that person is Evan Longoria. He is coming into tonight's contest sporting a .366 wOBA , 135 wRC+ and .266 ISO. This guy is back after his struggles from last year and already has 17 dingers on the year.
He will be going up against Josh Tomlin today, who has allowed 1.67 HR/9 (highest on the slate). Right-handed bats have done much better against Tomlin as opposed to left-handed bats. Righties own a .509 SLG percentage to go along with a 38.0% hard contact rate. Guys don't hit Tomlin often, but when they do, that means it's hit hard and that's when Tomlin gets in trouble. Longo should have a big day for the Rays and is an excellent tournament play.
Opponent - BAL (Gausman) Park - @TEX
FD - 9.39 DK - 7.28
Kevin Gausman has allowed 1.44 HR/9 since 2015, so I will go ahead and take my chances with the rook! Nomar Mazara came to the show and just dominated. He has hit homers over 450 feet and has shown us his ability to field his position. This kid has been the spark plug for this teams offense and I'm expecting that to be the case in this ballgame as well.
Nomar Mazara owns a .372 wOBA and .209 ISO vs. right-handed pitchers. This kid hits for power and average, and playing at home (friendly hitters park) will only help him out. He is an excellent value play with all these studs taking the mound.
