Long Ball Targets
Carlos Santana FD 4000 DK 5400
Opponent - CHW (Shields) Park - @CLE
FD - 11.3 DK - 8.6
James Shields is on the bump for the White Sox today, so that means I am going to stack against him and build my lineup around my man, Carlos Santana. I know big game Shields was a starter you would pretty much roster on your daily teams every time he was going out on that hill, but that isn't the case anymore. He has just been awful, and ever since he was traded to the White Sox, it has only gotten worst. With that being said, Santana and his .220 ISO against right-handed pitchers, is my first long ball target on the day.
Besides Shields' horrific start to the year -- left-handed bats have crushed him the past couple of seasons. Since 2015, they own a .379 wOBA to go along with a .516 SLG. They are hitting for a very high average and a ton of power, so watch out for the Indians' lefties, especially Carlos Santana.
Nolan Arenado FD 4100 DK 4700
Opponent - MIA (Chen) Park - @MIA
FD - 10.48 DK - 8.12
Unfortunately this game will be played at spacious Marlins Park rather than Coors Field, but I still love Nolan Arenado. Arenado will be going up against southpaw Wei-Yin Chen. Right-handed hitters own a 1.69 HR/9 to go along with a .496 SLG against him, since 2015. As you can see by the numbers, Chen is a guy that struggles keeping the ball in the ballpark, which sets up Arenado and his 35.8% hard contact rate in the perfect position. We all know the power Arenado has and how he's one of the best hitters in the show, so go ahead and put him in your squads against a southpaw who has trouble keeping the ball on the ground (38.1 GB%).
Value Play Long Ball Target
Javier Baez FD 2800 DK 3800
Opponent - PIT (Niese) Park - @CHC
FD - 10.42 DK - 8.42
Javier Baez will be going up against Jon Niese today, which provides him with a favorable L/R matchup. Baez has not been that good against right-handed pitchers in his young career, but boy he has destroyed southpaws. He owns a .423 wOBA and .206 ISO against them, which shows us that he is able to hit for a high average, but he also has some serious pop in that bat.
Wrigley Field isn't the best of ballparks for hitters, but if the wind is blowing out to center field tomorrow, the Cubs could have a little home run derby at Wrigley! Get ready Jake Arrieta! Here is your time to practice before you face Maddison Bumgarner and Bartolo Colon in the Home Run Derby.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Baez, if the Lake breeze stays low as it’s blowing into the plate. The rest are all launch pads waiting to happen. After yesterday’s projections, I’ll plug Baez in a few line ups! Thanks a lot.
Definitely have to keep an eye out on the wind! Even if he does not go yard, I expect him to have a nice game.
Wind is blowing in 6mph as of now.. Will be interesting to see what happens at 8pm ET
I agree but still hard to turn from X and Correa. How bout URIAS last night!! Also, how bout NOHALFTIME?! I don’t play any cash games on FD anymore. Thanks to the system I have sent $50-100 religiously to my account each day since I joined, and got a free T-shirt!?? they cash out to PayPal within the hour and is a hassle free site.
Definitely a tournament play only with Correa looking so good tonight. Should be a fun night! And congrats!!
Good Luck!! PLAY BALL!
