Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Stack Targets
Rockies vs. Ivan Nova and Yankees vs. Chad Bettis
Park - Coors Field
After a weekend series with the Padres that saw two of the three games stay under the total, the Yankees came to town as we got to enjoy a barn burner last night. I am expecting much of the same this afternoon as two weaker pitchers go head to head in a game with another total North of 12 runs. The Rockies will face Ivan Nova who has struggled mightily away from Yankee Stadium. He has a 6.57 ERA and has allowed opponents a .379 wOBA and 1.89 home runs per nine innings. That is dangerous when you are talking about going to Coors Field. Nova has struggled against both right handed and left handed bats so everyone in the Rockies lineup is in play.
On the other side of the diamond the Yankees will be up against Chad Bettis who has been equally as bad home or road with a 5.85 ERA and and K rate below seven. Bettis has allowed four or more earned runs in four straight and six of his last seven starts including seven long balls. He is struggling more against right handed batters(.382 wOBA against) so my favorite plays from the Yankees will be A Rod, Castro and Headley but don't rule out anyone today. Gardner, Ellsbury and McCann make a great combination of speed and power.
Enjoy all the runs!
Boston Red Sox vs. Tyler Wilson (Orioles)
Park - Fenway Park
The Red Sox are leading Major League Baseball in total runs scored with 371 which is 19 clear of the next highest scoring teams. They also lead the majors in hitting vs. right handed pitching with an impressive .359 wOBA and 122 wRC+. They hit in a premium hitters park and get a tremendous matchup in the second game of the series vs. the Orioles. They will go up against Tyler Wilson today who is having a rough go of it over the last month. He has allowed six or more hits and three or more earned runs in all five starts dating back to May 19th. His ERA over that time is an ugly 6.67 with his xFIP not much better at 5.12. His fastball velocity has been below 90 mph and he is giving up a 30% hard hit ball rate. This could be trouble in Fenway tonight. I would recommend the top four in my stack or a two through five stack that included Hanley Ramirez if he is in the lineup.
Also Consider - Cleveland Indians vs. Ian Kennedy (Royals)
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Thoughts on reds stack? Thanks
Everything else I’m seeing has Kevin Gausman pitching for Baltimore. Which is it? Still a good stacking opportunity, I think,
@Eden Stone
Ya they changed it this morning. I had the write up done last night. Still a good option if you want to go Red Sox.
