Long Ball Targets

(All stats on the charts are since 2014)
(Stats talked about in the write-up are this years stats)

Nolan Arenado FD 4500 DK 5300
Opponent - PIT (Locke) Park - @COL
FD - 13.24 DK - 10.26

My Early slate "long ball" call of the day belongs to Nolan Arenado. I mean what can I say -- not only will he be going up against a southpaw in Jeff Locke, but this game will also be taking place at Coors Field (hitters paradise).

Rather than giving stats on Coors Field, I will break down Arenado and his matchup.

On the year, Arenado owns a .431 wOBA to go along with a .333 ISO against left-handed pitchers. He is a guy that hits for a ton of power, and playing at home will only help his cause. A matchup against Locke, is the icing to the cake. Locke owns a 5.13 FIP and 1.34 HR/9. He tends to give up an occasional long ball and his FIP suggests that he's not a very good pitcher. Look for Arenado to hit one into the stands.

FYI: Right-handed hitters own a .347 wOBA and .472 SLG against Locke this season.

Stephen Piscotty FD 3800 DK 4800
Opponent - CIN (Finnegan) Park - @CIN
FD - 10.62 DK - 8.48

My Main Slate "long ball" call of the day belongs to Stephen Piscotty. Piscotty will be going up against Brandon Finnegan who has been up-and-down all season long. He has a solid 3.39 ERA on the year, but owns a 5.03 xFIP (not good at all) don't be fooled by his nice ERA. The young southpaw is due for regression and I believe it starts tonight against the Cardinals.

Besides a high xFIP, Finnegan has allowed a total of 10 home runs on the year (all against right-handed bats). The Cards' right-handed bats have a favorable matchup (10 homers shows that they see the ball well against him) and there is no better guy to roster on your squad than Piscotty. He owns a .514 wOBA to go along with .260 ISO. This kid has been spectacular for the Cards' and this is one beautiful matchup for him to showcase his power, especially playing at Great American Ballpark. He isn't the first guy that comes to mind when you think of dingers, but watch out for the 25-year-old.

Value Play Long Ball Target

Giancarlo Stanton FD 3000 DK 4000
Opponent - MIN (Santana) Park - @MIN
FD - 10.85 DK - 8.17

I know Stanton isn't necessarily a value play on Draftkings, but he sure is one on Fanduel for $3,000.

Stanton has struggled this season, as he owns a .197 AVG and .322 wOBA. Those aren't numbers you would expect from Mr. $300,000,000, but those are his numbers. The good news is: he showed some signs of life last night as he went 2-for-5 with an RBI.

Tonight he will be going up against Ervin Santana. I know a R/R matchup isn't one that you would want for Stanton, especially when he's ice cold, but Santana has struggled against righties this season. They own a .535 SLG, .369 wOBA and have hit six homers. This is an intriguing matchup for Stanton and I expect him to break out of his slump tonight.
