Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Stack Targets
(Hitter stats provided are vs. the handiness of the pitcher they are facing)
St. Louis Cardinals vs. John Lamb (CIN)
A lot of stacking options on tonight's slate, but one of the more affordable, under-owned stacks of the night will be the Cardinals. They aren't going to blow you away with power, but they sure know to score runs in bunches and hit for contact. They will be going up against southpaw John Lamb, who owns a 5.58 ERA that is backed up by a 5.62 xFIP. He is also getting hit hard, as opponents have a 39.1% hard hit rate against him. His peripherals are not appealing at all, so I expect for the Cardinals to do some serious damage against the southpaw. They might not hit a ton of homers in this contest, but I'm still expecting them to score a lot of runs. Some of the guys that I am looking to stack are: Stephen Piscotty (.513 wOBA), Matt Carpenter (.351 wOBA), Matt Holliday (.148 ISO) and Aledmys Diaz (.327 wOBA).
Milwaukee Brewers vs. Sean Manaea (SEA)
Sean Manaea is another young left-handed pitcher who has struggled in the early going of the season. He is coming into this contest sporting a 6.16 ERA that is backed up by a 4.76 xFIP. His ERA is worse than Lamb's, but his FIP and xFIP are much better. The question is: which young southpaw would you rather pick on tonight? Both teams from the NL Central are in great spots, so it's just a matter of which of the young lefties would you rather pick on (they are so identical). Ryan Braun and Jonathan Villar are going to cost you a pretty penny, but they both have wOBA's over .450 on the year vs. left-handed pitchers, so go ahead and pay up for them. A couple of other guys I'm looking at are: Domingo Santana (.452 wOBA) and Chris Carter (.205 ISO).
Chicago Cubs vs Jerad Eickoff (PHI)
Our Projection System has a thing for the Cubs tonight, so as usual, I will go ahead and back it up. Jered Eickoff has been solid this season posting a 3.93 ERA that is backed up by a 3.82 xFIP. So why is the Projection System picking on Eickoff you may be asking yourself. The answer to that question is because of his inconsistency on the bump. The 25-year-old is either really good or really bad, so stacking a high-powered offense like the Cubs, is a great idea for tournaments. Eickoff also got hit by a line drive in his ankle in his last start, so it will be interesting to see if this takes a toll on his mechanics, command and/or velocity. Some of the guys I am looking to stack are: Kris Bryant (.386 wOBA), Anthony Rizzo (.414 wOBA), Jason Heyward (starting to catch fire; slow start early on) and Dexter Fowler (.418 wOBA).
It seems like I have a thing for the NL Central today, so go ahead and get exposure to all of the NL Central!

What about a Rockies stack? Maybe LeMahieu, Arenado, Cargo, and Story or something similar to that. I do agree strongly with the stacks you have listed already and will for sure use them tonight, but can we really expect Urias to turn it around? I would assume it would be low owned too.
The Rockies were next on my list. I don’t expect him to turn it around tonight. I like a Rockies and Marlins stack as well. I love Arenado tonight.
Eickhoff (PHI) you have listed as (BAL)
Indians the sneaky stack of the night. Their hitters have great numbers agianst him. R davis gomes santana uribe lindor and even kipnis in limited ABs.
