Daily Fantasy Baseball News and Updates for FanDuel and DraftKings - 6/3/16

Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!

Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today.

By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!

What We Know

We get a break from Coors Field talk after a four game series with Reds seen 64 runs scored producing some monster fantasy games. We can now turn our attention to some other favorable situations to extract our fantasy points from.

Personnel

  • David Wright will be placed on the disabled list today and could miss 4-6 weeks with a herniated disc ion his neck.
  • Be cautious with Andrew McCutchen as he left last night's game after experiencing some discomfort in this thumb. It could be nothing but isn't worth risking in daily fantasy today.
  • Gregory Polanco made a pinch hit appearance last night suggesting he could very well be back in the lineup on Friday after missing two games.
  • Jordan Zimmerman has been cleared to return to the Tigers rotation after missing a start with a groin strain. He will start tonight at home vs. the White Sox.
  • Giancarlo Stanton was a late edition to the Marlins lineup last night and appears to be healthy. He picked up an RBI double in three at bats vs. the Pirates.
  • Dustin Garneau could get some extra reps as the Rockies catcher with Tony Wolters going down with a concussion last night. The Rockies other catching option, Nick Hundley, is still rehabbing so lok for Garneau to get some starts and provide some low end value at the position.

The "Every Lineup" Guys

Jurickson Profar FD 2500 DK 3200
Opponent - SEA (Walker) Park - @TEX
FD - 10.56 DK - 8.98

This is what a wrote about Profar in the main article:

"He has been filling in for the the suspended Roughned Odor and has been providing excellent fantasy value in the leadoff spot. He should get one more start before heading back to the minors so take advantage while you can. He has picked up a hit in all six games coming into tonight including four multi hit efforts and seven runs scored. He makes a great play on his own or an affordable addition to a Rangers stack tonight against Taijuan Walker who has been awful in May with a 4.91 ERA while giving up nine home runs in six starts".

Be sure to check lineups prior to lock tonight and if he is back in the leadoff spot is a tremendous value on both sites. Early today the lineup tool had him placed in all 25 optimized lineups on both sites. Lock and load.

Miguel Cabrera FD 3600 DK 4800
Opponent - CHW (Rodon) Park - @DET
FD - 12.49 DK - 9.48

The price is a bit high on DraftKings but at 3.6K on FanDuel the projection system and optimizer absolutely love Miggy today as he is showing up in 19 of the 25 optimized lineups. While isn't considered an elite option later in his career, he is still a very solid option hitting over .300 and producing fantasy numbers with a 147 wRC+ through two months. He makes a terrific cash game play at a discount from the top options to allow for a more balanced lineup approach if you are trying to fit Thor in your lineups tonight.

One other note: There are big differences between DraftKings and FanDuel pricing so the optimal lineups are looking quite different.

These are players that show up in each of the top 10 lineups as produced by our lineup optimizer. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're "safe," it just means that their projected weighted-mean point total is a solid building block for a great lineup foundation today.

Good luck out there today! If you want access to all of our numbers, get started with a free trial below of our lineup optimizer, on us!

  • Doug,
is there a problem with the lineup tool? It's not showing the projections for each player or the running total for all players at the bottom when I build my lineup.
It's been like this for almost a week. Thanks.

  • So it looks like cutch and polanco are both playing. I only have enough room for one or the other. Which do you all like more?
