If your goal is to load up on Rockies/Reds/Red Sox bats today, I think that Matt Boyd makes for a very interesting play, particularly on Fanduel where he's the second cheapest pitcher on the slate. Now I will be the first to admit that Boyd got roughed up quite a bit last year, but he seems to have gotten it together in the limited amount of time he's pitched this season. His ERA is waaaaaaay down (almost 5 whole runs), his K/9 is up, his BB/9 is down, and his GB % has jumped nearly 9% since last season. While the Yankees don't strike out a ton, they are near the bottom in offensive rankings this season when it comes to facing southpaws, so that bodes well for Boyd here. This is definitely a shot in the dark, but I think running Boyd in a couple of GPP's could have a big payoff tonight.

For those of you considering using Carlos Carrasco as your pitcher tonight I'd ask that you strongly reconsider that decision. Not that Carrasco has been bad or anything this year (he's actually been quite effective), but one phrase can be used to describe why you shouldn't play him tonight and that phrase is "limited pitch count". According to reports, as Carrasco is coming off the DL he will be limited to about 80 pitches. That's not the lowest number we've ever seen, but for a guy that expensive who's used to going deep into games, 80 pitches really limits his upside. Now if he's feeling good he may eclipse that number, but do you really want to take that chance? I know I don't, so I'm staying far away from Carrasco tonight.

After what Sanchez did to the Yankees last night, their bats are completely inept. I like Boyd too. Especially with Pineda as the opponent, high probability of the Tigers getting the win.
