Pitching Targets

*Note - Austyn discussed Max Scherzer and Jacob DeGrom in his main article for today so I will highlight a few more guys who can be considered for GPP's on a poor slate for pitching, especially in the early slate.*

Like I mentioned above the early four game slate is pretty ugly for pitching. Hamels is coming off his first loss of the season after finally being punished for his propensity for giving up the long ball(26.7% HR/FB rate). Outside of that issue he has been pretty solid with a 9.73 K/9 rate and 3.53 xFIP which is just above his ERA of 3.34. He gets a matchup this afternoon vs. the Indian who rank 19th in wOBA(.307) and 24th in ISO(.124) vs. left handed pitching while striking out over 21% of the time.

Outside of the terrible start he had @SF two starts ago, he has been very consistent this season with 15+ DraftKings and 30+ FanDuel points in eight of his 10 starts. The Cubs enter this matchup as big favorites(-195) at home in a good environment for pitchers. They will face the Dodgers who have been heating up, winning 7 of their last 10 games, but rank 19th overall vs. left handed pitching with a .301 wOBA. He makes a better play on FanDuel where the win is much more important than K's as the Dodgers strikeout less than 20% vs. southpaws.
