Looking at the weather today there are some concerns in the early game between the Phillies and the Cubs and alter on between the White Sox and Royals. Be sure to check out our special weather report article from Mark Paquette.
Personnel
*Note - There is a ton great options tonight across the entire slate so no one is a must play. The below plays are a few players who are showing up a ton in the optimized lineups on both sites*
Opponent - MIL (Davies) Park - @MIL
FD - 14.38 DK - 10.98
Opponent - MIL (Davies) Park - @MIL
FD - 10.93 DK - 9.02
The Reds are in a great spot today with a run projection north of four in a terrific hitters park. They will be facing right handed pitcher Zach Davies who struggles with control(3.75 BB/9) and has given up three home runs in his last two starts. Batters on both sides of the plate can be targeted but lefties are preferred as Davies has given up a .450 wOBA against left handed bats with a 41% hard hit ball rate. With so many great options tonight the Reds stack could come in under owned in tournaments and has is a bit cheaper with very similar upside.
Opponent - SD (Friedrich) Park - @ARI
FD - 2.79 DK - 2.14
Castillo shows up in almost all the optimized lineups on both sites due to his terrific matchup vs. a left handed pitcher. He has destroyed southpaws this season to the tune of a .463 wOBA and 191 wRC+. He will be facing Christian Friedrich making his third start of the season for the Padres who are lacking depth in their rotation. He has walked nine batters in his first two starts while only striking out six but has somehow limited the opposition(MIL & LAD) to three earned runs. This most likely will not continue as his 6.21 xFIP suggests he is due for some big regression and will face a tough D Backs lineup in a terrific hitters park tonight.
One other note: There are big differences between DraftKings and FanDuel pricing so the optimal lineups are looking quite different.
These are players that show up in each of the top 10 lineups as produced by our lineup optimizer. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're "safe," it just means that their projected weighted-mean point total is a solid building block for a great lineup foundation today.
Good luck out there today! If you want access to all of our numbers, get started with a free trial below of our lineup optimizer, on us!
