Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Few weather concerns in Kansas City and Detroit
As of now, Kansas City is looking very bad and Detroit not so much. I will update this post if there is anything made offical prior to lock. make sure to go give the weather article a read as well as he knows much more than I.
Will Jose Bautista or Rougned Odor be suspended?
These guys got into a fist fight yesterday on second base. While I don't expect the suspensions to come this fast, it is something to watch out for.
Note - I will update this section throughout the day as lineups are released and injury news is broke
Opponent - LAA (Shoemaker) Park - @LAD
FD - 9.72 DK - 7.62
Opponent - LAA (Shoemaker) Park - @LAD

The Dodgers enter this game with a projected team total currently sitting at 4.5. They will be facing off with Matt Shoemaker, a right handed pitcher that has struggled to get both lefties and righties out. In 2015, Shoemaker exhibited a .337 wOBA and a 4.80 xFIP to lefties. Both Corey Seager and A-Gon have been swinging the bat very well recently and will look to continue that trend tonight. In 2016, Seager has a .344 wOBA compared to Gonzalez and his .353 wOBA against righties. I look for this entire Dodgers team to have a great game and these 2 will be right in the middle of it all.
Opponent - TEX (Holland) Park - @OAK
FD - 10.3 DK - 8.06
While there is no guarantee Phegley will be in the lineup, I fully expect him to be against a lefty. Phegley has hit lefties very well over the course of his career with a .341 wOBA and 38.6% hard contact rate. Derek Holland on the other hand, has been knocked around in his last 2 starts and it will almost certainly continue throughout this season as he was one of the luckiest pitchers in the league over the past 2 years as evidenced by his 5.27 xFIP. Holland has given up a .361 wOBA to righties to begin the year and I expect that number to rise. Once you confirm Phegley is in the lineup, plug him into yours!
One other note: There are big differences between DraftKings and FanDuel pricing so the optimal lineups are looking quite different.
These are players that show up in each of the top 10 lineups as produced by our lineup optimizer. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're "safe," it just means that their projected weighted-mean point total is a solid building block for a great lineup foundation today.
Good luck out there today! If you want access to all of our numbers, get started with a free trial below of our lineup optimizer, on us!

Kipnis not in optimizer?
Bautista got into a fight? Are we sure about that? Odor got into a fight....Bautista took a standing 8 count.
Anyone know anything about motter batting in the 2 hole for the rays? Min priced
Motter his .370 vs LHP last year at Durham

Yep he's starting 2nd tonight . Right handed bat vs Happ but I'm not sure we need to punt anything tonight. Optimizer has a lot of salary room left in its optimal lineup with niese and Maria locked in. He's definitely playable though if u wanna absolutely stack everything else .
Phegley hurt man, cmon.
Am I the only one who likes Pearce tonight at 2B and his 3 HR, 9 RBI in 21 AB vs, Happ career?
My concern is that Happ has been better since his stint with Pittsburgh but metrics suggest he's due for regression
Pearce With Da Bomb!
Oh...very nice point!!
Any yankees bats that I should roster?
Pearce already
