Brief Summary

MIA at WSH (game #1) will begin dry. The problem is that they may not end that way as a batch of rain is expected to push in around 4-6 PM. If this timing is correct,  they would be able to play most, if not all, of this game  (1:05 EDT start time). Problems arise if a) the rain gets in there a bit faster and b) if the game goes long. I will watch this region but it does not seem like a huge deal right now (at least the 1st game). VERY LOW CHANCE OF A PPD/LOW CHANCE OF A DELAY LATE IN THE GAME

DET at BLT and MIA at WSH (2nd game) will see this same batch of rain leaving this region a few hours later at the scheduled 1st pitch time of 7:05 EDT.

So, again, it is all about the timing. If the models I am using are correct, they should be able to play. If the rain is a bit slower, then we have problems (worst case scenario is probably a late start to the game as this rain is moving away). VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD/IN-GAME DELAY; LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF A LATE START

CIN at PHL, being further east geographically, will see the rain mentioned above stick around a bit longer and thus this game is slightly more worrisome. By 8 PM there is one more batch of rain to push through. Assuming the timing is dead on here (which is probably is not). So while I think they are able to play this game, there is a bit more of a PPD risk simply if the rain sticks around awhile longer. LOW TO PERHAPS MODERATE CHANCE OF PPD/MODERATE CHANCE OF ANY TYPE OF DELAY(S). A late start to the game seems like the almost perfect solution based upon this timing shown above.

MIN at CLE will see showers pop up. I expect the radar this afternoon and evening to look like the meteorological version of the chicken pox or the measles! Worst case scenario here is a delay of some type. VERY LOW CHANCE OF PPD, LOW CHANCE OF SOME TYPE OF DELAY(S)

NYM at COL will see widely scattered thunderstorms. Worst case scenario is a delay. Should not be a huge deal. This far out, and with the atmosphere Denver is experiencing right now, showers or a thunderstorm could pop up so I will keep a close eye on the region. LOW CHANCE OF PPD/ANY TYPE OF DELAY

Good Hitting Environments:

-Rule #1, always start this section with a Rockies home game. NYM at COL will see the HUGE advantage (for batters) of playing at over 5,000 feet above sea level.

-HOU at BOS will experience one of the nicer afternoons of the spring with temps in the low 70s and a moderate breeze blowing out to left-center.

-CHW at NYY will also experience mild temperatures and have a light breeze blowing out to left.

-MIA at WSH will see a strong breeze blow out to right.

Poor Hitting Environments:

-PIT at CHC will experience cool temperatures.

-MIN at CLE will be played with cool and breezy conditions.
