Welcome to the daily MLB updates and news article. We'll try and update it right up to line-up locks with as much information as comes across our desks. Let's get to it!
Last night's picks can be found here, so you can wrap your mind around what you need to be looking at before lineups lock today.
By the way - we keep our projection system updated with all of the batting lineup changes as they occur throughout the day right up until lineup lock. Every day. If you want access to that system so you can cut out a lot of the research element, click the button below!
Huge weather concerns
We are looking at severe weather concerns in Washington, Baltimore and Philadelphia. I will update if anything is made clear before lock.
There are minor concerns in Cleveland and New York.
Note - I will update this section throughout the day as lineups are released and injury news is broke
Opponent - COL (Butler) Park - @COL
FD - 16.02 DK - 12.04
Duda has demolished righties over the course of his career and enters this game against a horrible one in Eddie Butler. It certainly doesn't hurt that the game is being played in Coors Field either. These guys have a combined wOBA of .377 and a hard contact rate of 37.8% which sets up very well for Lucas Duda. Duda will be hitting in the middle of a lineup that is projected to score 5.5 runs. Get him in there. Duda is my pick of the day for a home run.
Opponent - NYM (Verrett) Park - @COL
FD - 14.87 DK - 11.41
Opponent - NYM (Verrett) Park - @COL
FD - 12.59 DK - 10.91
This outfield duo is one that won me a ton of money last year as it seems they work together with speed an power. Verrett has struggled against both sides of the plate in his short career with a combined .386 wOBA. When you combine that with Coors Field, good luck. Gonzalez and Blackmon have both smashed righties over the past couple years with a +.366 wOBA and 34.4% hard contact rate. Blackmon also brings some stolen base upside as Rene Rivera is one of the worst catchers in the league at throwing runners out.
One other note: There are big differences between DraftKings and FanDuel pricing so the optimal lineups are looking quite different.
These are players that show up in each of the top 10 lineups as produced by our lineup optimizer. This doesn't necessarily mean that they're "safe," it just means that their projected weighted-mean point total is a solid building block for a great lineup foundation today.
Good luck out there today! If you want access to all of our numbers, get started with a free trial below of our lineup optimizer, on us!

optimizer showing alex avila fanduel says hes not starting ??
Yup. Just pushed out an update with CWS starting lineup pulled in. He isn't there anymore
Which is the better combo for cash game? Confronto/granderson or cargo/Blackmon? I can work either in with salary. Thanks
I would play 2 lineups with both combos
I like to stick w 1 lineup across the board. Keeps me sane. Lol
Cargo batting 5th may make your decision
Usually stick with one for cash as well if it comes to decision like that tend to lean road team for guarantee of 9th inning where both combos are top of order guys not much of difference. I'd go with your gut or you could always flip a coin that way you have something to blame
Hey Doug -
I cannot seem to find today's Daily Picks article for MLB...it keeps sending me to an error page that says "not found." Is there a system issue or am I looking in the wrong place? Please advise, thanks.
With the weather in Philly, I am punting pitching. Just throw a dart and gonna hope for a football score at Coors.
Yes it did thanks.
Doing same thing was gonna go all the way down but not sure how many pitches he's allowed to throw
John...not trying to persuade, but Gee has started in the past and he is facing the Braves farm system.
Gee with a good matchup. Braves tough to strike out but mostly because they just make weak contact and call it a day
If you think Gee lives in the strike zone then I can see him getting to about 5 innings here. That's right about the value breaking point for him
Anthony you didn't persuade at all had it locked before seeing your comment and need a hit or two to cash
We feeling adleman?
Tonight's pitching is so very dicey. He has a decent matchup against Philly but is a huge ML dog
