Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.

Pitching Targets

Taijuan Walker FD 8700 DK 9500
Opponent - HOU (Fister) Park - @HOU

It has been a terrific start to the 2016 season for Walker who has struck out 29 batters while limiting opponents to just three walks. He should definitely have more than two wins but the Mariners just aren't scoring runs for him. During his starts they are only providing him with 2.4 runs on average which is 8th lowest among regular starters. He shouldn't have to worry about run support today as the Mariners hitters get an elite matchup vs. gas can Doug Fister. Walker is a strikeout pitcher(K rate over 8 for his career) and goes up against the Astros who are striking out over 26% of the time vs. right handed pitching. He comes at a nice discount off the top tier starters and makes a great option on his own on FanDuel or as a second pitcher on DraftKings.

Opponent - TEX (Hamels) Park - @DET
FD - 29.08 DK - 14.93

The Tigers are home favorites today vs. the Texas Rangers who got absolutely thumped in Toronto last night. Zimmerman is having a terrific start to his tenure with the Tigers going 5-0 with an incredible .55 ERA. He isn't going to give you the strike out upside(just over a 6 K/9) of some of the other options but is limiting the walks and is getting over five runs of support each start. He is one of five pitchers on FanDuel priced over $10K and will most likely be one of the lowest owned in that range. His best value is on DraftKings where you have to scroll down a ways to find him. He makes a great pick in any format as a second pitcher.
Marcus Stroman FD 8100 DK 9200
Opponent - LAD (Maeda) Park - @TOR
FD - 31.72 DK - 16.01

Stroman is going to be low owned today with the amount of top tier options available. On DraftKings he makes a terrific second pitcher option below $10K and comes in even cheaper on FanDuel just above $8K. While he doesn't provide the K upside we would like to see(5.86 K/9), he is an extreme ground ball pitcher(59%) who relies a ton on his defense which just happens to rank 8th in fielding % in 2016. He will face the Dodgers tonight who have been good on the road but rank 20th in team wOBA(.301) and strike out over 22% of the time vs. right handed pitching. If Stroman can limit his mistakes to the big bats he should be in line for another win as the Jays are riding the momentum of their biggest offensive outburst of the season beating the Rangers 12-2 last night at Rogers Center.
