Stacking in DFS MLB is such an important concept if you’re looking to take down a big tournament on FanDuel or DraftKings. It’s also a good way to diversify cash games because the variance in baseball can mean wild swings (ahem) in the scoring on a particular slate. The concept is easy. You want to pile players from one or two teams into your lineups because those guys compound scores by helping each other score runs when the going is good.
Stack Targets
New York Mets vs. Mike Foltynewicz (Braves)
Park - Citi Field
Mike Foltynewicz has really struggled in the early going of his career, and I don't see things better for him tonight. He has a 5.05 FIP and 1.77 HR/9, which means he is allowing almost two homers per game. Foltynewicz has also struggled getting outs, as opposing hitters have a .306 AVG against him, which puts the Mets in a perfect position to do some damage. Now let's get to the bats I am looking to target against Foltynewicz.
There isn't a clear-cut place to start with this Mets' lineup. A lot of these hitters hit right-handed pitching well, so I will look to see with which handiness of hitter Foltynewicz struggles with the most. And that is -- Left-handed batters.
They have a career .401 wOBA and.582 SLG against him, so I will just start with Curtis Granderson, Neil Walker, Michael Conforto and Lucas Duda. These four left-handed bats will be hitting at the top of the order and will have plenty of opportunities to drive in runs, as well as scoring. They have combined for 21 homers to starts 2016 season, which shows how much power this lineup possesses. They all also have a wOBA over .350 and an ISO over .225. These guys have tremendous power and are all in play.
I mentioned my love for the Mets' lefties, but don't sleep on Yoenis Cespedes, David Wright and switch-hitting shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera. Hitters 1-7 are in play tonight, but it's up to you to narrow the choices. That's what I tried doing for you with their four big lefties.
Texas Rangers vs. R.A. Dickey (Blue Jays)
Park - Rogers Centre
Up next we have the Texas Rangers going up against a struggling knuckle-baller in R.A. Dickey. He has had trouble controlling the knuckleball, as he has a 3.71 BB/9 this season to go along with a 6.95 ERA. He has been off to a rough start and pitching in Rogers Centre won't help his cause. There is no wind in the stadium, to give the kunckleball extra movement, so it will come out straighter/flatter.
With that being said, some of the Rangers' hitter to target include: Nomar Mazara, Prince Fielder, Adrian Beltre, Rougned Odor and Mitch Moreland. I really like these five guys, so it is hard for me to knock one of them off. Mazara, Fielder and Beltre all present your team with consistency and a high floor, but Moreland and Odor give your team a high ceiling. These five guys hit right-handed pitching exceptionally well, as they all have a wOBA over .340, with the exception of Odor (.321 wOBA). This has game has a O/U of nine runs, so go ahead and get some Rangers (they will be lowered owned between the two teams, which is great for tournaments).
St. Louis Cardinals vs. Jeremy Hellickson (Phillies)
Park - Busch Stadium
I know you were expecting the Blue Jays, but I didn't want to list the obvious here. Instead I will give you a stack our projection system loves, that I see flying under-the-radar -- and that is the -- St. Louis Cardinals.
This game has an O/U of 7.5 runs, so people will run away from this game, but I see the Cardinals doing the majority of the damage in this contest. Hellickson has struggled in his career not only against left-handed batters, but also against right-handed batters. Lefties have a career .321 wOBA, while righties have a .346 wOBA against him.
The guys that I am looking to target in this game include: Matt Holliday, Matt Carpenter, Stephen Piscotty and Brandon Moss. They all have an ISO over .175 against right-handed pitching, which shows the true power they have. Hellickson allows 1.37 HR/9, so we could see some of this power showcased tonight. They also all have a wOBA over .340, which shows their ability to get on base and get extra base hits. They might not be the Blue Jays, but they will be a low-owned stack that is very affordable. They are in play for me tonight.
So yeah, baseball season! And we've got some goodies you can take with you. At the end of the post, we have our MLB eBook that you really ought to check out before setting even a single daily fantasy MLB lineup. It's free, below.

Ummm….you guys are horrible today and yesterday. Glad it was only a trial, definitely cancelling my 3 day trial. Had I not used my own lineups in half my entries the past two days I would have lost everything following your advice. Cueto…sucked! The Mets sucked after the first inning, the Rangers??? The Blue Jays??? I see most of your picks are now changed to others, and they still suck. The only thing you had right was the Giants. You want $29.99 for this?? Please. I lost more money following your advice than going with my own research. Not trying to be harsh, just giving you a reality check.
Funny because I used the advice along with my picks and won 300 bucks tonight. You must be really bad at dfs what’s your name on draftkings I’ll play you 1v1 100 bucks
Not to mention the 3 every lineup guys they gave you scored 31 points combined.
Hey George take a hike then
Cueto was awful though. He was the number one pitcher.
Actually, every pitcher that was recommended tonight sucked….
Who else would u recommend. Of course Cueto should have been #1. I kicked major ass tonight and had cueto. But I didn’t agree with the Texas picks so I faded them. So easy to do. You need to lose to get better. Stop complaining. How bout colon that was recommended. They totally kicked ass with that pick
The optimizer was all over colon and he put up 31 DK points that’s far from sucking so between cueto colon Duda posey and conforto you would have had 70 points with still 5 more players to choose if you couldn’t score the 30 points remaining with 5 players and the blame this site for it. Wow lol
The 25 dollar double up with 2400 people top 1100 winning 50 bucks tonight the cash line was 90 points this site gave all the info needed for an easy win.
