This week we are treated to a number of Premier League games in midweek and these fixtures have created a good opportunity to profit on DraftKings. Four games feature in the slate that gets underway on Wednesday evening, West Ham face Watford, Man United host Crystal Palace and Liverpool face their Merseyside rivals Everton. The following day, West Brom travel to the Emirates to face Arsenal and this game is also included in this slate.

David De Gea – DK $4,400
Opponent – Crystal Palace
Manchester United goalkeeper, David De Gea is the obvious albeit pricey choice in goal. Man United are the overwhelming favourites to beat Crystal Palace on Wednesday and a victory would earn De Gea five points. Furthermore, United are a very good side defensively, they’ve conceded just 30 goals all season, only Tottenham have conceded fewer. This is significant because goalkeepers receive an extra five points if they keep a clean sheet. Finally, Man United’s opponents, Crystal Palace are on a very poor run of form, they’ve only won one Premier League game this year.
Heurelho Gomes – DK $3,300
Opponent – West Ham United
An expensive goalkeeping option isn’t for everyone and Heurelho Gomes is a good alternative to David De Gea and is considerably cheaper. Watford are one of the best sides in the League defensively, they’ve only conceded 37 goals thus far this season, that’s fewer than any other side outside the top seven in the League table. As a result, the Watford keeper, Gomes is a good option despite a tricky match away at Upton Park.
Callum Connolly – DK 2,000
Opponent – Liverpool
Everton full back, Callum Connolly probably isn’t going to be the highest of point-scorers, however he’s a must have at $2,000 considering he is likely to start versus Liverpool. Everton are without Coleman, Hibbert and Browning which means Connolly is likely to make his first start for Everton and this allows us to spend a little more money on our attacking options. Admittedly, I don’t know much about the youngster but I’ve been told that he’s an attacking full back and as a result he should earn a few points throughout the Merseyside derby.
Nacho Monreal – DK 4,000
Opponent – West Brom
Nacho Monreal is often undervalued and that’s the case again in this slate. The Arsenal full back faces one of the worst attacking sides in the Premier League, West Brom, therefore there’s a good chance that Arsenal keep a clean sheet. West Brom have only scored 31 goals all season, only Aston Villa have scored fewer goals this campaign. The Spanish left back has averaged an impressive 8.3 points per game, which is more than many of the players priced similarly in this slate. Finally, West Brom will inevitably sit back and be tough to break down which should result in Monreal getting forward and delivering crosses throughout the match.
Manuel Lanzini – DK 4,100
Opponent – Watford
Manuel Lanzini was rested at the weekend and will inevitably come back into the starting eleven against Watford. He’s averaged 9 points per game this season, which is very impressive for a player valued at just $4,100. This campaign, Lanzini has scored six goals for West Ham and he’s also assisted one, therefore he has the potential to be a good point-scorer. Admittedly, Lanzini faces a resilient defence in the form of Watford’s but at just $4,100, he’s well worth chancing in this slate.
Philippe Coutinho – DK 6,100
Opponent – Everton
Jurgen Klopp has been reluctant to start Coutinho in the lesser games of late, however this is a huge game for Liverpool fans, therefore I suspect we’ll see the talented Brazilian start for Liverpool on Wednesday. Coutinho has averaged a superb 14.5 points per game this season and that can only be bettered by very few players in this slate. He’s scored seven goals and assisted five in the Premier League this season and will inevitably get a few opportunities against an injury hit Everton side. Finally, Coutinho has notably averaged 4.2 shots per game in the League and a shot is worth one point and another if it hits the target.
Andy Carroll – DK 4,600
Opponent – Watford
Andy Carroll has been in great form recently and at $4,600, he’s being undervalued in my opinion. In the last five matches he’s played, the Englishman has scored five goals and recorded one assist. He scored an astonishing 44 points against Arsenal when he scored a hat-trick. Admittedly, West Ham’s opponents, Watford are good defensively, although Carroll will have a number of creative players surrounding him and as a result should get a few opportunities to score.
Daniel Sturridge – DK 5,500
Opponent – Everton
Another striker who is being massively undervalued is the fit again, Daniel Sturridge. Players who have recently returned from injury are after priced lower than they should be and that includes Liverpool striker Sturridge. Sturridge has averaged 9.6 points per game, however this doesn’t tell the full story because he’s featured a few times from the bench, thus lowering his average. When full fit, Sturridge is a prolific goalscorer, he scored 21 goals in the 2013/14 season and has scored four goals since his return from injury in March.
Danny Welbeck – DK 5,600
Opponent – West Brom
Danny Welbeck appears to be Arsenal’s first choice striker and should he start, he represents good value at $5,600 against an average side. He’s averaged a respectable 9 points per game this season in the few matches he’s played this season. I fairly confident that should he start more games, he’ll score more than 9 points per game. In the six Premier League matches Welbeck has started this season, he’s scored three goals and assisted two and he’s proved on numerous occasions that he’s capable of scoring goals which result in big points.
Jesse Lingard – DK 4,400
Opponent – Crystal Palace
Last but not least is Manchester United midfielder, Jesse Lingard who has impressed for Manchester United since breaking into the first team earlier this season. The 23 year old has averaged 7.3 points per game this season but I’d back him to outscore this against Crystal Palace who happen to be one of the worst sides in the Premier League. The majority of Lingard’s points have been scored through shots and crosses and the Englishman is also capable of scoring goals. He’s scored four times in 15 Premier League starts this season and another goal against a poor side would be very welcome.
