Welcome to another night of daily fantasy hockey with Daily Fantasy Sports Rankings. After a small three game slate last night we are back with a huge 10 game slate on Thursday. The Calgary Flames and Ottawa Senators are the only teams playing on back to back nights and both are doing so on the road. The following five teams are playing a third game in four nights:

  • Buffalo Sabres (Home)
  • Calgary Flames (Road)
  • Nashville Predators (Road)
  • San Jose Sharks (Home)
  • Toronto Maple Leafs (Road)

An early look at the matchups has me thinking we could see some offense and leading to a high scoring fantasy night. Let's take a closer look.

If you have any questions throughout the day be sure to join the conversation in the comments section below. Also, be sure to check LeftWingLock to get confirmation on all of the starting goalies for Tuesday. Now onto the picks.

Goaltenders

Martin Jones
Opponent - VAN
FD - 9100 DK - 7300

After getting the night off on Tuesday in a Sharks 4-1 win in Vancouver, Jones will be back in net on Thursday facing the Canucks on the second lag of the home at home series. In his last start he made 30 stop son 32 shots in a Sharks 5-2 victory over their division rivals the LA Kings. He has been much better on the road this season but a night off and great matchup vs. the Canucks and their 30th ranked offense give Jones a great shot at a win.

Devan Dubnyk
Opponent - OTT
FD - 8800 DK - 8300

He has been one of the hottest goalies in the league over the past few weeks and is coming off a huge win vs. the Blackhawks on Tuesday. He extended his win streak to six games and has not allowed more than two goals in any of those games. The Wild are right in the middle of a playoff race and sit just five points ahead of the Colorado Avalanche with five games to go. Look for the Wild to come out strong as they get a favorable home matchup vs. the Senators playing on back to back nights.

Also Consider - Thomas Greiss - New York Islanders vs. CBJ

CENTER

John Tavares
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 7800 DK - 7500

It has been a down offensive year for Tavares with on 59 points, which is his lowest points total since his rookie season(not counting 2009-10 where he only played 48 games). I have been waiting for a breakout for months now as he hasn't had a multi point game since March 23. With his price sitting within a few hundred dollars of Crosby and Stamkos I feel he will be extremely under owned tonight. The Islanders get a favorable matchup as they are home to the Blue Jackets.

Stack with - Ryan Strome, Josh Bailey, Kyle Okposo(PP)

Mikko Koivu
Opponent - OTT
FD - 5700 DK - 4900

He has been on his best offense stretch of the season with points in four straight and six of his last seven games. The Wild have been playing some of their best hockey lately as they attempt to hold off the surging Avs for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference. He has shown great chemistry with Parise and Coyle and the the three make on the best line stacks of the night as the WIld face the Sens who are playing on back to back nights on the road.

Stack with - Zach Parise, Charlie Coyle

Also Consider - Jeff Carter - Los Angeles Kings vs. CGY

WINGERS

Jamie Benn
Opponent - ARI
FD - 8400 DK - 7900

Losing Tyler Seguin to injury for the remainder of the regular season has not slowed down the Stars or Benn. He is coming off a two goal performance vs. the Predators and has points in three of his last four games. He provides a high floor with shot volume and also carries a ton of upside as he leads the powerplay (5 PP points in last 10 games) and has huge multi point upside. In his last 10 games he has six multi point games and 13 points. Look for the Stars to get on the board early and often tonight as they are home favorites facing the Coyotes who rank 27th in goals allowed per game.

Stack with - Patrick Sharp, Cody Eakin

Ryan O'Reilly
Opponent - TOR
FD - 4300 DK - 5800

Anyone you place on a line with the talented rookie's Jack Eichel and Sam Reinhart should be able to fed off them and enjoy offensive success. That is the case with O'Reilly who is coming off a two point game vs. the Pens and has points in five of his last seven games. He is also averaging over two shots on goal giving him a fairly safe floor as well. The Sabres should be able to keep the offense going as they get a great matchup at home tonight vs. the Leafs.

Stack with - Jack Eichel, Sam Reinhart

Also Consider - Jonathan Huberdeau - Florida Panthers vs. NJ

DEFENSE

Brent Burns
Opponent - VAN
FD - 8000 DK - 8500

He doesn't allow you to dwell on his lows as they just don't last more than a game or two. He has been incredibly consistent this year with a very safe floor as he has taken 48 shots over his last 10 games and 333 shots on the season which is second to only Alex Ovechkin. He has 11 points in his last 10 games for the Sharks including five PP points and four multi point games. After picking up two points vs. the Canucks in a 4-1 win  on Tuesday, he will get another crack at them tonight in the second of the home at home series.

Calvin de Haan
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 3100 DK - 4100

If you are paying up for Burns tonight you are gong to need a cheaper option so you can still get a top scoring line into your lineup as well. De Haan has been my favorite punt option on DraftKings for some time now as he carries a high floor with blocked shots. While he has only recorded three points in his last 10 games, he has picked up 35 blocks and has averaged over 3 DraftKings points per game.

Also Consider - Victor Hedman - Tampa Bay Lightning vs. MON

  • Don't like OTT at all tonight. They are now officially eliminated and Wild are fighting to stay up on COL for last West spot.

My fav stacks are BUF1, DAL1, MIN 1 or 2

  • Chris,

I really like FLA1 + Min Koivu line with Burns/Hanley and Montoya.

You suggesting a DAL1/Buff1 combo for a contrarian?
The LU I'm leaning heavy on is

Hubes, Rieder, Reinhart, Jagr, Eichel, Ryan O'Reily, Burns/Hedman and Jones. That's how 2 of my 5 LUs look.

    Any suggestions?

  • DAL is not contrarian no. Either will BUF as they are home facing the Shitty Leafs. Sorry Leafs fans.

My main exposure tonight will have these two team stacks in all formats. I mostly play GPP though besides 5-10 H2H matches

  • I'm running Into a problem. On the Buff line on FD both Ryan O'Reily and Jake Eichel are listed at the C position and Reinhart st RW. This leaves me having to go with Two LWs and a RW. Any suggestions?

  • Good luck tonight everyone. Chasing a two year old around and gotta go feed the animal before she chews my leg off
