Tournament time is upon us, and I for one couldn’t be more excited. Postseason college basketball is arguably the most exciting time in all of sports, and why not amp up the excitement a little bit with some daily fantasy college basketball? I mean hey, even if you don’t have a favorite college team, everyone likes winning some extra cash right? We’ve got two pretty sizable slates coming up today so let’s get to it.

Grayson Allen
FD - 9600 DK - 9600
My favorite high-priced guy on the slate has to be Grayson Allen of Duke. Now I know if you follow college basketball you might know him as that Duke kid who keeps tripping people, but rest assured, this guy can flat out score the basketball. He’s averaging over 21 ppg in the ACC, and rounds it out nicely with a couple rebounds and assists as well, which gives him a nice solid floor (he hasn’t scored less than 28 FD points in his last 7 games). The matchup against NC State couldn’t be much better, given that they like to play a fast-paced brand of basketball. Allen torched the Wolfpack for 28 points in their last meeting at Cameron Indoor, and I look for him to put up similar numbers in this one.
Michael Gbinije
FD - 8600 DK - 8900
The guy from Syracuse with the last name that gives spellcheck nightmares, Michael Gbinije (pronounced ben-e-jay or something like that) also happens to be one of the best all-around guards in the country. He averages over 17 ppg, 4 rpg, 4 apg, and 2 spg for the season, which gives him an incredibly safe floor without even mentioning that Boehiem routinely plays him 35+ mpg. The matchup with Pitt isn’t the best because they are a decent defensive unit, but Gbinije is one of the few guys who is matchup-proof because his game is so diverse. I don’t like him as much as Allen, but his upside and solid floor just can’t be ignored.
Jordan Murphy
FD - 8100 DK - 7400
Murphy is a decent player on a terrible team, which might make you wonder why I’m writing him in for picks today. One word: opportunity. Joey King, the senior leader of Minnesota was injured two games ago, and in the following game Murphy took a whopping 21 (!!!) shots in 39 minutes of action. Now he only made 3 of them, but that’s kind of beside the point. As bad as that performance was, he still managed to put up 22 FD points, and I just can’t see him shooting 14% from the floor again. Combine all of that with Illinois absolutely dreadful inside defense and rebounding and it’s safe to say Murphy has the highest upside on the slate.
I also really, really like Malcolm Hill against a depleted Minnesota team.
For the late slate consider: Jaron Blossomgame, Isaac Hamilton, and Shavon Shields
Michael Humphrey
FD - 7300 DK - 6800
Ever since Michael Humphrey moved into the starting lineup for Stanford he’s been nothing less than solid, posting 15.5 ppg and 8.3 rpg over that 6 game span. It’s difficult to ignore that kind of consistency in CBB where consistency is one of the hardest things to find. The minutes are there, the shots are there, and the matchup is there; Washington has the 327th ranked scoring defense in the country (out of 346 just to highlight how absolutely terrible that is). Humphrey is my favorite mid-priced guy today, and he’s a double-double waiting to happen today.
Tyler Lyndon
FD - 6800 DK - 6800
Another mid-priced guy who has been pretty consistent lately is Tyler Lyndon of Syracuse. He’s reached double digit points in 8 of his past 10 games, and has failed to reach 20 FD points only three times over that 10 game span. Lyndon is an explosive scorer who Boehiem has apparently decided to use more and more as the season has progressed, which is apparent in his increased minutes and scoring. Like I mentioned with Gbinije, I don’t love the matchup with Pitt, but Lyndon did score 21 points against the Panthers just two weeks ago. He’s unlikely to put up massive numbers, but Lyndon is definitely a safer guy to plug into your lineup that you can really build around.
Kendrick Nunn
FD - 6800 DK - 7500
This pick is kind of risky because Nunn has been anything but consistent this year, but there is reason to think he could have a strong game today. The Illinois guard faces a Minnesota team that recently dismissed it’s 3 best guards, so now they’re forced to play guys with very little experience (and no postseason experience). This is exactly the kind of matchup that Nunn should be able to exploit, especially since he put up 25 points against the Golden Gophers just over a week ago. This play definitely carries some risk, but it wouldn’t surprise me even a little bit if a lineup that wins the tournament has Nunn on it.
For the late slate consider: Andrew White, Tony Parker, and Myke Henry
Stephon Sharp
FD - 5200 DK - 5700
Bakary Konate
FD - 5300 DK - 5100
Two guys from the aforementioned depleted Minnesota team that I like today are Bakary Konate and Stephon Sharp. Neither of these guys are exceptionally talented, but they have the opportunity to play heavy minutes and take a lot of shots due to the injuries and suspensions their team is currently facing. In Minnesota’s last game, Sharp took 19 shots, and Konate put up a double-double in points and rebounds. For these near bottom prices, that kind of opportunity and production is just too hard to pass up, especially against an Illinois team that certainly has nothing to brag about on the defensive end.
Marcus Allen
FD - 4800 DK - 5200
Another guy I recommend with heavy skepticism is Marcus Allen of Stanford. I’ve been burned by him twice before, but he’s also paid off higher than 4x for me twice as well. It’s difficult to tell which guy will show up in this one, but I have a feeling it could be good Marcus. Washington, as I already alluded to, has a horrible team scoring defense, meaning Allen should have plenty of opportunities to both score and assist his teammates. Not even close to being safe, but definitely a guy you should consider for your tourneys if you want to stack some higher priced guys.
For the late slate consider: Admiral Schofield, Duane Wilson, and Justin Bibbs

These prices are thousands off the actual player prices today. Good picks though. Cat Barber is a tough fade as well. He plays 40 minutes a game and is hard to stop. Would be surprised if he dont go for 40+
Correction, The price on Jordan Murphy is off by thousands
And Kendrick Nunn
im a 1st time user trying to put together line-up for college hoops and the tool i get is for the pro hoops? any help
Look for discounts so you can add as many premier players as possible. These Minnesota players are a good option on the early slate. Pretty much the same as NBA just look for players who play alot of minutes and have good matchups. Personally for me I've always had more success going heavy with forwards and looking for cheap high minute options at guard.
Hey Dan, good catch on the prices. We had some problems with FD prices, but we've got it straightened out. Sean, like Dan said I would recommend looking for value plays and pairing them with guys who get a ton of usage on the offensive end. Also looking to target games with a high O/U never hurts when trying to decide between similarly priced players.
