Welcome back to another night of daily fantasy hockey with DFSR. We are in for a big night as their are 12 games in the NHL tonight with a ton of great matchups and fantasy options. One thing I noticed when researching these games is that the road teams have the advantage tonight. There are six road teams (TB, NYI, SJ, CHI, FLA, ANH, MIN) with top offenses facing off vs. teams with bottom end defenses.
The following teams are playing on back to back nights:
- Chicago Blackhawks (Road)
- Toronto Maple Leafs (Home) *3rd Game in 4 Nights*
- Anaheim Ducks (Road)
- Montreal Canadiens (Road) *3rd Game in 4 Nights*
Be sure to check the comments section below and/or LeftWingLock to confirm all the starting goalies tonight prior to lineup lock.
Goaltenders
Jonathan Quick
Opponent - MON
FD - 8600 DK - 8400
The Kings are at home late Thursday night as big favorites to the visiting Canadiens who are playing on back to back nights on the road. Quick lost his last outing to the Ducks but before that had gone 4-1-1 in his previous six games allowing only nine goals. The Kings are ranked #1 in the league in goals allowed per game and should be able to take care of the struggling Habs tonight. He is a great play in any format.
Martin Jones
Opponent - VAN
FD - 8600 DK - 7500
I absolutely love targeting Jones in goal when the Sharks are on the road. The Sharks own the best road record(22-9-3) in the league and Jones averages close to two full fantasy points more away from the Shark Tank. He gets a matchup against the Canucks on Thursday who has faced once this year stopping 23 of 24 shots in a 4-1 win. Jones is in good form as well going 7-2-1 in his last 10 starts with a shutout and .932 save percentage.
Also Consider - Pekka Rinne - Nashville Predators vs. NJ
CENTER
John Tavares
Opponent - WPG
FD - 8700 DK - 7800
The Islanders top offensive option has been rolling lately with 10 points in his last 10 games despite a two game scoreless streak. Tonight will be a great spot for him to get back on track as the Islanders head to Winnipeg to face the Jets who are ranked 25th in goals allowed per game. Tavares provides a nice floor averaging around 3.5 shots on goal per game and won't hurt you in the +/- department. He torched the Jets in an earlier meeting this year with a goal and two assists en route to a 4-2 win in Long Island.
Stack with - Anders Lee, Brock Nelson
Tyler Johnson
Opponent - OTT
FD - 6400 DK - 5500
The Lightning have been red hot lately wining seven straight games and now only sit two points behind the Florida Panthers for 1st place in the Atlantic Division. Johnson is centering the Bolts second line with Palat and Kucherov who have provided excellent secondary scoring this season. In his last 10 games Johnson has tallied four goals and three assists with 25 shots on goal. He makes a fantastic mid range option for any format tonight.
Stack with - Andrej Palat, Nikita Kucherov
Also Consider - Derek Stepan - New York Rangers @ PIT
WINGERS
Patrick Kane
Opponent - BOS
FD - 8800 DK - 8700
With a goal and an assist in last nights win over Detroit, Kane now has 13 points(7 on the PP) in his last 10 games with 38 shots on goal. He leagues the league with 88 points and continues to outplay his salary which is still sitting below $9K on both sites. The Blackhawks travel to Boston tonight to face the Bruins in a game that could reach the over quite easily as both teams have top 6 offenses.
Stack with - Artem Anisimov, Artemi Panarin
Jason Pominville
Opponent - TOR
FD - 6400 DK - 4800
He is back playing extremely well offensively and providing elite fantasy upside for the Wild. He is coming off back to back games with a goal and has six points in his last three games and 13 points in his last 10 games. He is also providing a nice floor with around 2.5 shots on goal per game and an impressive +9 rating. The 12th ranked Wild offense should get a boost tonight as they face the 24th ranked defense in the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Stack with - Mikael Granlund, Nino Niederreiter, Thomas Vanek
Also Consider - David Perron - Anaheim Ducks @ ARI
DEFENSE
Brent Seabrook
Opponent - BOS
FD - 5100 DK - 6000
An affordable mid range defense option for the Blackhawks who has been contributing for fantasy lately with nine points in his last 10 games. He averages around 2.5 shots per game and over 2 blocks per game(added value on DK) giving him a stable floor. He also comes with big upside as half of his season points have come on the powerplay this season. Great matchup on the road in Boston.
Cam Fowler
Opponent - ARI
FD - 4400 DK - 4300
I have gone back and forth lately between the Ducks top D pairing as both provide excellent fantasy value. Vatanen's price has got above the $5K mark turning my attention to Fowler tonight. He comes at a nice discount below $4.5K on both sites and is coming off three straight games recording an assist. In his last 10 games he has tallied nine points(7 on the PP) with 18 shots, 14 blocks and a +5 rating. With a terrific mathcup vs. Arizona(Ranked 30th in goals allowed per game) he will be in play in all formats.
Also Consider - Matt Dumba - Minnesota Wild @ TOR

Ok guys I’m back.
I had a very productive night last night, but it was a short slate. Looking to keep this hot streak going.
Here we go…
L1
Schenn, Galchenyuk, Kucherov, Toffoli, Carter, Henrique, Burns, Ghost and Quick
L2- Gamble lineup
Hall, O’Reily, Kane, Kucherov, Couture, Johnson, Hedman, Gustafsson, Dubnyk
L3- Gamble/punt/hail mary
Panarin, Niederreiter, Pominville, Lee, Tavares, Nelson, Ghost, Fowler and Jones
Thoughts?
I’ve been crushing NHL lately guys. Unreal. 5 nights in a row I’ve won every single 50/50 and double up. I was hoping my short losing streak didn’t last long. Justin I’ll read your post and offer my opinions a little later. Nice to see u post on here
Quick ? Is this FD or DK
Ryan,
It’s FanDuel. It’s a league where top 12 out of 100 win cash. I am probably sticking with L2
I like L3 but that’s just me. I think I will be using Jones a lot tonight in goal. Sharks best road record in league.
Will be working on my lineups in about an hour. Talk to you soon.
Yep I’m with Chris #3 looks good and Jones will be under owned. 2 is ok but 3 is better
Thank you guys. Will be waiting.
I like MIN1 and MIN PP as well. Built a few lineups now with them and TB1 and TB2
Made changes to L2.
E. Kane, Galchenyuk, Toffoli, Versterg, Tavares, Carter, Burns, Ghost and Lehner
Last time I won pretty significantly it was with the Burns-Ghost combo at D. I’m trying to build a lineup around that
Going with your train of thought I’ve made changes to L2
Praise, Palat, Pominville, Callahan, Koivu, Namesnikov, Burns, Ghost and Lehner.
Did I select the right Min1 and Tampa2 guys?
Love the expensive high upside D men for GPP
Parise and Koivu on MIN1. Pomm on MIN 3. Callahan skates with Stamkos and Killorn
Check out LeftWingLock.com and go to line combos and choose todays lines
