Let's dig in and find some core and value plays for tonight's action. The following picks will be focused on the Primetime slate starting at 7:00 pm ET.
Goaltenders
Jonathan Quick
Opponent - ARI
FD - 8800 DK - 8500
Top goalie on the night in a terrific spot to pick up a win. The Kings head to Ariznoa to face the Coyotes who have lost four straight games and rank 27th in goals allowed per game. The Kings on the other hand have won six of their last 10 games and sit with a 10 point lead on the Pacific Division. Quick has been terrific this year going 26-11-2 with a .922 save % and has been two fantasy points per game better on the road where he is 12-3-1 with a .934 save%.
Cory Schneider
Opponent - WPG
FD - 8500 DK - 8200
Schneider is the main reason why the Devils currently sit in a wild card position in the Eastern Conference. Over his last 10 games he has posted a 6-4 record with .940 save % including three straight wins and a shutout. The floor is there as the Devils have been giving up around 30+ shots per game and the upside for the win is also great as the Devils have started to give Schneider some offense(10 goals in last 2 games).
Also Consider - Tuukka Rask - Boston Bruins vs. CBJ
CENTER
Patrice Bergeron
Opponent - CBJ
FD - 7000 DK - 7500
He makes a terrific play in any format as he is one of the most consistent players in the league. He has picked up seven points in his last 10 games with a total of 39 shots on goal, seven blocks and a +5 rating. The Bruins are big favorites tonight as they welcome the Columbus Blue Jackets who rank 30th in goals allowed per game.
Stack with - Loui Eriksson, Ryan Spooner
Nazem Kadri
Opponent - MON
FD - 6200 DK - 5600
Kadri makes a safe cash game play tonight as he provides high floor nigh in and night out with the volume of shots he takes. Over the past 10 games, he has six points with 45 shots on goal. For the season he now has 162 shots(3.6 per game). He is currently averaging over 3.0 fantasy points per game and will only cost you around 11% of your salary cap.
Stack with - Joffrey Lupul, Leo Komarov
Also Consider - Dylan Larkin - Detroit Red Wings vs. ANH
WINGERS
Patrick Sharp
Opponent - COL
FD - 7200 DK - 7000
The Dallas Stars have been struggling in January and have posted a 2-7 record. The top line's production has taken a step back somewhat, but with the amount of star power they can break out at any time. Leading the way during the slump has been Sharp who has recorded eight points in his lat 1 games with 40 shots and a +2 rating. Until Seguin and Benn heat up again I will take the cheapest exposure to the Stars top line and move on.
Stack with - Jamie Benn, Tyler Seguin
Tobias Rieder
Opponent - LA
FD - 5000 DK - 4600
A terrific low end value play tonight that is more suitable for cash games as he lacks the upside of other options. He has picked up seven points(three on PP) in his last 10 games with 32 shots on goal and eight blocked shots. He draws a tough matchup tonight vs. the Kings but he should be able to get enough shot volume to reach value and if he can get a point he will crush value.
Stack with - Anthony Duclair, Mikkel Boedker, Martin Hanzal
Also Consider - Wayne Simmonds - Philadlphia Flyers @ NYI (If Played)
DEFENSE
Oliver Ekman-Larsson
Opponent - LA
FD - 5600 DK - 6100
One of the most reliable fantasy defensemen in the league this season. His price never seems to take that big jump into the top tier even though he provides a very high floor at the position. In his last 10 game she has picked up eight points(five on PP), 28 shots on goal, eight blocks and a + 3 rating. Arizona has lost four straight games dropping them four points back of the wild card. If they are to get back into the race they will need Ekman-Larsson to carry the team.
Jake Muzzin
Opponent - ARI
FD - 4800 DK - 4800
Muzzin is one of the top value plays tonight on both the FanDuel and DraftKings lineup tool and for good reason. In his last 10 games he has picked up eight points(three on PP), with 29 shots on goal, 12 blocks and a +2 rating for the Kings. He has also been getting top PP time with Drew Doughty which only raises the potential ceiling even higher.
Also Consider - Shea Theodore - Anaheim Ducks @ DET
