Welcome to the daily fantasy hockey picks article for DraftKings, FanDuel, and DraftPot for Saturday, December 5th, 2015. With two games in the afternoon, we have another 8 game slate Saturday night with 6 teams(STL,NYI,PHI,CBJ,SJ,BOS) playing on back to back days. I won't be covering the "Early Only" slate but Braden Holtby would be my goalie choice. Lets take a look at the night slate and find some core plays.

 

GOALIES

Jake Allen - St. Louis Blues vs. TOR *PROBABLE*
DraftKings - $7,600 FanDuel - $9,600 DraftPot - 3.68 DPPG
He has been alternating good starts and bad starts the last week or so and is coming off a bad one so I guess he is due. Even though it has been a roller coaster lately, he still holds a 11-5-2 record and .926 save % on the season. He gets a home matchup vs. the Leafs who are tied for the worst road record in the Eastern Conference.

Steve Mason - Philadelphia Flyers vs. CBJ *CONFIRMED*
DraftKings - $6,900 FanDuel - $8,000 DraftPot - 4.12 DPPG
He has been splitting time with Michal Neuvirth and both goaltenders have helped breathe life in the Flyers season. They have won 3 in a row and are currently up 3-2 on the Devils in New Jersey. He has poor 5-7-4 record to start the year but a respectable .911 save %. Both teams are on back to back so I will favor the home team in this one.

Also Consider -Petr Mrazek - Detroit Red Wings vs. NSH

 

CENTER

Claude Giroux - Philadelphia Flyers vs. CBJ 
DraftKings - $6,600 FanDuel - $7,800 DraftPot - 3.63 DPPG
Points in five of his last six games with three of those coming as multi point efforts. He has been carrying the Flyer offense and has been very balanced with goals and assists. He is averaging 3:20 on the powerplay which has produced 11 points with the man advantage.

Alex Galchenyuk - Montreal Canadiens @ CAR
DraftKings - $4,800 FanDuel - $4,800 DraftPot - 3.53 DPPG
He has picked up points in five of his last six games and has filled in nicely on the Habs top powerplay unit while Brendan Gallagher has been out with injury. His price is still under $5K on both DraftKings and FanDuel and is a great value for any format Saturday night.

Also Consider Patrice Bergeron - Boston Bruins @ VAN

 

WINGERS

Daniel Sedin - Vancouver Canucks vs. BOS
DraftKings - $6,800 FanDuel(LW) - $8,400 DraftPot - 5.95 DPPG
He has been extremely consistent lately producing 14 points in his last 10 games. He now gets a matchup at home vs. the Bruins who are playing a third game in four nights on a west coast road trip. Look for another big game from Daniel.

Mike Hoffman - Ottawa Senators vs. NYI
DraftKings - $5,600 FanDuel(LW) - $6,600 DraftPot - 5.65 DPPG
He has been red hot lately with 15 points in his last 10 games including six multi point games. He is ranked 16th in the NHL averaging 19.8 CF/60 which has resulted in 64 shots on goal. He makes a great choice in any format Saturday and also makes a great stacking option with Kyle Turris and Bobby Ryan.

Wayne Simmonds - Philadelphia Flyers vs. CBJ
DraftKings - $5,300 FanDuel(RW) - $6,100 DraftPot - 3.60 DPPG
He pushed his point streak to three games last night in a win over the Devils. I like finding cheap value plays and riding the streaks until they abruptly end or the price climbs to high. In daily fantasy hockey with the slow adjusting salaries, I guess we ride the point streak. He has a great shot to keep it going Saturday in a home matchup vs. the Blue Jackets who are playing back to back games on the road.

DEFENSE

Erik Karlsson - Ottawa Senators vs. NYI
DraftKings - $7,400 FanDuel - $8,600 DraftPot - 5.60 DPPG
The two time Norris Trophy winner is at it again with 29 points on the year and has tremendous upside every night he steps on the ice. I really like the Senators in this matchup vs. the Islanders in what could be a high scoring game.

Shayne Gostisbehere - Philadelphia Flyers vs. CBJ
DraftKings - $3,400 FanDuel - $3,500 DraftPot - 2.76 DPPG
I have used him pretty much every game I have had a chance since he took over for Mark Streit. He gets #1 PP time and takes a ton of shots which provides you with a high floor at a low cost. He also provides upside with the offense and is a great play in any format.
