Another packed Saturday in college football land. Some really high scoring games could be coming your way.

Marquise Williams
If you want to start your day off with a thrill roster this guy and hang on for the ride. At times WIlliams looks every bit the Heisman candidate some thought he could be. Other times he sinks your ship like a pair of concrete boots in the Delaware River. North Carolina has a few capable receivers, but none are really elite talent. Elijah Hood is a nice back, but he’s no Leonard Fournette. This all adds up to Williams truly being the centerpiece of the offense. Hood has been fairly productive so it’s not a bad idea to pair the two together, but these Tar Heels go by the way of Williams. UNC is projected for around 36 points, which is certainly decent opportunity, but the real grab is how Williams goes about his production. The difference being his rushing ability. Basically you should expect more fantasy points per scoring drive out of Williams compared to a pocket passer. Game flow can certainly skew percentages, but smart money plays odds and in the long run they win.
Nate Sudfeld
Indiana always seems to find themselves in high scoring affairs. I would imagine this week will be no different. Indiana travels to Purdue as 6 point favorites, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised the Boilermakers steal a win against the Hoosiers. Much will depend on the health of Jordan Howard. If Howard is healthy I would probably downshift to Austin Appleby on the opposite sideline. If Howard is out it all falls on the shoulders of Sudfeld and he has proven the ability to chuck it around the field and put points on the board. Indiana has also proven the inability to stop the opposing offense. This should be a fun game to watch for Big Ten and DFS fans alike.
Wendell Smallwood
Running back is an absolute fantasy safe haven. There seems to be an endless list of solid value options up and down the pricing scale. Since we cannot list them all we will start with one of the safest plays at the position. Smallwood is the charge for the Mountaineers offense. He is also regular here in my weekly picks. The guy is just money. He can run and he can catch which allows him to stay on the field in all situations. Howard is a capable quarterback, but WVU doesn’t have a prolific passing offense. Instead they drop the boom with Smallwood. It simply doesn’t much more safe than this guy.
Joseph Williams
Well, he’s no longer free, but he is still priced well below his opportunity. Nothing has changed from last week minus the opponent. Booker is still out, Utah still runs the ball, and Williams is still the bell cow. WIlliams finished last week with 121 yards on 26 carries and added 31 yards receiving on 4 receptions. That’s the kind of volume you can hang your hat on. Williams is the consummate cash game play Saturday morning. His role is secure and Utah’s strategy remains the same, play good defense and run the ball. Williams should once again be the feature back and see all the work. Colorado is not as soft as in years past, but they aren’t Bama.
Jordan Payton
Unlike running back, receiver is mildly ugly. There are some talented options, but either price or matchup removes the shine. USC has been getting absolutely demolished by the pass and it’s likely the trend continues against UCLA. I mean did you see what Vernon Adams did against them last week. The game is expected to be close with a total in the low 60’s. I think these teams match up well against each other and we could see plenty more points than what the line suggests. Rosen has been good, but not great. Payton has been good, but not great. Together against USC they could be great. I’m banking on the latter. Payton is the clear top cash play for me graded against the rest of the receiving options.
Isaiah Ford
Isaiah Jones
Both the Isaiah’s are similar in form or function, but their availability is site specific. FanDuel offers a rather meager group of receivers making Ford solid value due to his consistent volume. Tech runs a balanced offense and should be able to move the ball against the Cavaliers. Virginia has been more susceptible to the run, but they like to give up yards through the air as well. Now that Brewer is back under center for the Hokies their passing game has seen a slight uptick and the chemistry between Brewer and Ford seems to back. On Draftkings Jones makes an excellent cash play as the clear #1 for the Pirate offense. There is slight concern due to the flip-flopping of quarterbacks. When Kemp is under center the Pirates pass the snot out of the ball and Jones benefits greatly. When Summers is under center they run more often limiting Jones’ potential. Signs point to Kemp starting putting Jones near the top of the receiver pecking order.
Jake Butt
This dude is certainly not the butt of jokes sitting around the tight end table. Butt is one of the best tight ends in the country and plays a critical role in Michigan’s offense. Harbaugh has a history of using the tight end as a feature in the offense. When he was at Stanford they had Fleener and Ertz. When he was in San Fran he had Vernon Davis circa 2013. Now he’s back in college, Butt the theme is the same. He uses his tight ends and Butt is a good one.
