Shriners Hospitals for Children Open

TPC Summerlin - Las Vegas, NV
Par 71, 7,255 Yards

The PGA Tour didn't disappoint in it's first tournament back for the 2015/2016 season. At one point in the final there were over 15 golfers within 3 shots of the lead. In the end it was Emiliano Grillo beating out Kevin Na in a playoff to grab his first PGA Tour win and a trip to next year's Masters tournament. If this is a sign of things to come, it will be another great season on the PGA Tour where we will get to witness many young, unknown players come into their own on the course.

This week the PGA Tour will visit the city that never sleeps, Las Vegas, Nevada. The tournament will be the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open hosted by the TPC Summerlin course that has hosted the tournament since 1992. The field is lacking top talent(4 of top 35 players) but with up and coming talent this tournament will be extremely competitive. To contend for a win this week golfers will have to go low as the winning score will be around the -20 mark. The course is a Par 71 course with 4 Par 3's, 11 Par 4's, and 3 Par 5 holes. I will be looking closely at Strokes Gained Tee to Green, Greens in Regu-

High End Targets

Rickie Fowler
Vegas Odds - 9/1
Draftkings - $12,200
Fantasy Feud - $186,000
GoDraft - $

He made his way up the world rankings to #5 by the end of the 2014/2015 season. He picked up 2 wins(Players Championship, Deutsche Bank), seven top 10's and was on the Presidents Cup winning Team USA. He is solid across the board in stats and last played here back in 2010 when he picked up a 22nd place finish. I think most people will take the savings and go with Koepka who is $1,300 cheaper, making Fowler a nice GPP Stars & Scrubs play who should be lower owned than the other $10K+ options.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 26
  • Total Driving - 22
  • Greens in Regulation - 106
  • Proximity - 85
  • Par 4 Performance - 72
  • Birdie Average - 17
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 35

Brooks Koepka
Vegas Odds - 19/1
Draftkings - $10,900
Fantasy Feud - $179,000
GoDraft - $

If you are making multiple GPP lineups this week and want to go more balanced, Koepka is a great pivot from Rickie Fowler on the high end. He will most likely be higher owned due to the $1,300 price difference but presents winning upside. He is top 50 in 6/7 stats, most importantly 17th in GIR & 11th in Par 4 Performance. He played here in each of the last two years missing the cut in 2013 and finishing 4th last year. He is coming off a bad round Sunday at the Frys.com Open and will be looking to rebound in Vegas this weekend. He is an ascending player who started to break out last season and will look to continue trending upward this season.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 34
  • Total Driving - 42
  • Greens in Regulation - 17
  • Proximity - 72
  • Par 4 Performance - 11
  • Birdie Average - 27
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 17

Jimmy Walker
Vegas Odds - 26/1
Draftkings - $9,900
Fantasy Feud - $158,000
GoDraft - $

One of the most consistent cut makers on Tour last year making 21/24 during the season. Walker picked two wins(Sony Open, Valero Texas Open) to go along with six top ten finishes and he also made it to the season ending Tour Championship where he finished 18th. He has played here in each of the last three years with a great course history(4th, 12th, 10th) and will look to start off the new season with another high finish here at Las Vegas. Walker is safe in any format this week.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 79
  • Total Driving - 121
  • Greens in Regulation - 101
  • Proximity - 137
  • Par 4 Performance - 97
  • Birdie Average - 8
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 2

Jason Bohn
Vegas Odds - 34/1
Draftkings - $9,500
Fantasy Feud - $137,000
GoDraft - $

Played good enough to win at the Frys.com Open to start the year(T3, -14)finishing one stroke out of the playoff. He now comes to a course and tournament where he has made four straight cuts and recorded some nice finishes(18th, 2nd, 8th, 49th last four years). He is elite across the board when looking at statistics from the 2015 season with Proximity(3rd), Par 4 Performance(4th), and Birdie Average(13th) being his best ranked stats. He makes a great top option for cash games and has the upside needed for GPP's as well.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 40
  • Total Driving - 80
  • Greens in Regulation - 28
  • Proximity - 3
  • Par 4 Performance - 4
  • Birdie Average - 13
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 46

Mid Tier Targets

Russell Knox
Vegas Odds - 51/1
Draftkings - $8,700
Fantasy Feud - $123,000
GoDraft - $

He missed the cut to open the year at the Fyrs.com but it doesn't concern me for this week. He shot a 69 on Thursday but struggled Friday with a 74. He should bounce back this week as he has had success here in each of the last three years at TPC Summerlin. He finished 3rd last year, 30th in 2014, and 13th in 2013. Three stats categories really stand out for Knox. He was ranked 7th in GIR, 2nd in Proximity and 6th in Par 4 Performance last season which had a lot to do with his consistency. He was also ranked 23rd in Strokes Gained Tee Green. He is safe in any format. GPP

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 23
  • Total Driving - 58
  • Greens in Regulation - 7
  • Proximity - 2
  • Par 4 Performance - 6
  • Birdie Average - 58
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 119

Nick Watney
Vegas Odds - 51/1
Draftkings - $8,60
Fantasy Feud - $116,000
GoDraft - $

Watney is definitely a "horse for the course" pick this week. He has played here in each of the past five years and placed 16th, 48th, 10th, 2nd, and 6th in those tournaments. He is top 50 in Strokes Gained Tee to Green, Proximity, Par 4 Performance, and Birdie Average. The weakest part of his game is putting and it isn't a key stat this week. Look for another solid finish at TPC Summerlin for Watney this week. He makes a great pick in any format.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 32
  • Total Driving - 53
  • Greens in Regulation - 66
  • Proximity - 32
  • Par 4 Performance - 36
  • Birdie Average - 47
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 156

Graham Delaet
Vegas Odds - 67/1
Draftkings - $7,900
Fantasy Feud - $109,000
GoDraft - $

He played the Frys.com last weekend and started off with 3 straight rounds under 70 but faltered on Sunday with a round of 77 and a T32 finish. Anyone who was counting on him last week might just avoid him in Vegas this week. This makes a nice opportunity to get on board. He should be motivated after the disappointing Sunday and has the stats to succeed at this course. He is 5th in Total Driving,22nd in GIR and 37th in Proximity. A nice recipe for success this weekend. He can be inconsistent at times during a tournament leaving him a GPP option only this week.

  • Strokes Gained: Tee to Green - 67
  • Total Driving - 5
  • Greens in Regulation - 22
  • Proximity - 37
  • Par 4 Performance - 125
  • Birdie Average - 91
  • Strokes Gained: Putting - 110

Low End Target

John Merrick
Vegas Odds - 301/1
Draftkings - $5,500
Fantasy Feud - $30,000
GoDraft - $

If you are playing Fowler in GPP's this week you will need a low end option to fit him in your lineup. He has played here at TPC Summerlin in each of the past 5 years and made every cut. At this salary that is all we ask. He was inconsistent to close out the 2015 season and should be used in GPP's only unless you feel his course history weighs heavier than current form.

  • I purchased the lineups and after a quick review I had to close the site to visit with a client. When I returned I was unable to access then pga picks. What is the correct procedure to be able to access the purchased lineups after closing the original window which appeared after the initial purchase?
