We have our general picks for Week 14.
Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls
Quarterbacks
Russell Wilson - $8100
Because I think I’m going to be saving some cash later on in these positions, it’s fine to spend up a little at quarterback this week on Draftster. Wilson is a great candidate. He’s priced below the big boys like Luck, Rodgers and Brees and has a fantastic matchup against a run and gun Eagles team that allows high volume to opposing teams. The Eagles are on and off the field so quickly that the end up allowing a wealth of yards. Wilson is such a part of his team’s success that he gets it down both through the air and more importantly here, on the ground. His floor is raised considerably because of his rushing yards and I think he could pile them on today.
Tom Brady - $7100
He’s priced significantly lower than the top tier of quarterbacks and offers a chance to really exceed value against the Chargers. The reason Brady’s price remains moderate is because his production varies on the whims of the Patriots’ game plan. One week he will attempt fifty passes and the next week Jonas Gray runs thirty times. When the Pats are committed to the throw, he crushes this price. San Diego can put up points on the right day are fine defensively. This game though has one of the higher over/unders on the day and should feature some points. Brady, if he airs it out, pays this going away.
Running Backs
Joique Bell - $5000
He appears set as the lead back for the Lions and last week had a
solid game against the Bears in which he saw 25 total touches (23
rushes, 2 receptions) and over a hundred total yards. They do use him
in the red zone meaning the touchdown expectation could be there
against a Tampa Bay team ranked in the middle of the pack against the
run. This price is almost criminal for a guy seeing the majority of
his team’s touches out of the backfield and honestly, my position
doesn’t really change even if Reggie Bush is back.
Mark Ingram - $6000
Outside of a terrible game against the Ravens, in which the Saints
decided to pass for a large portion of the affair, Ingram has seen no
less than 23 carries a game. I realize it’s unfair to remove a piece
of information to try and make a point, but that game against
Baltimore does seem to be an outlier. The Saints are content to feed
him the ball and he even gets a few looks in the passing game. Playing
both he and bell give you RB1 upside at a much reduced cost from the
big boys and will allow you the flexibility to over spend a bit in
some other areas if need be.
Andre Williams -$3000>
This is if, and only if, Rashad Jennings is out. If Jennings sits then
grabbing Williams (who admittedly stinks) at the minimums is a winning
proposition. Because the prices on Draftster have larger ranges than
say FanDuel, playing guys at these rock bottom prices has some huge
advantages even if Williams’ expectation isn’t the highest.
Wide Receivers
Josh Gordon - $7200
Didn’t take him long to get back into the fold. It’ll be interesting
to see what happens if/when Johnny Football takes over the reins of
the offense. I suspect Gordon’s targets remain about the same. And oh
man, those targets. In his first two games back he’s seen 16 and 13
targets respectively. Just like old times I suppose. That kind of
volume is rare for all but two or three wide receivers in the league.
And on Draftster, where he is the 11th most expensive wide out, it
doesn’t make sense to avoid him. He’s the top overall value at the
position regardless of price. And against the Colts, who allow a ton
of yards through the air (mostly because of their high-volume attack)
Gordon is in a great place to exceed his price. I’ll have him in every
one of my lineups.
Deandre Hopkins - $5800
It appears that having Ryan Fitzpatrick back behind center kind of
matters for the guy. While his targets remained the same last week at
nine, he converted all of them for a monster day through the air. He
won’t do that kind of percentage again of course, but these are the
Jags we are talking about. And while Jacksonville has gotten a bit
frisky of late, I still love the price on Hopkins with Fitz taking the
snaps. Very easy to fit him in your lineups and you are grabbing a
borderline WR1 (very borderline granted) at cheap costs.
Tight Ends
Coby Fleener - $4300
I suspect that at this price point and coming off his game last week,
Fleener will be the most popular tight end start on Draftster. No the
return of Dwayne Allen does cut into Fleener’s expectation some, and
is the only thing making me even slightly worried about the
production. Fleener saw a noticeable boost in targets with Allen off
the field. And having another tight end in the mix only could diminish
the targets. But Fleener has established himself as such a high impact
pass-catching tight end, that it’s hard to imagine the production
falling off a cliff. And at this price the downside is built in.
Consider Greg Olsen

There seems to be a lot to like about Stafford at home against the lowly Buc’s!
