Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls
Philip Rivers - $6300
Because Draftster price corrects more than most other DFS sites you have a chance to buy lower on players who have underperformed of late. I like this about the site as some other bigger outfits will price correct moving up, but not down. This is long way to say that you are getting a nice price on Rivers because he’s put up some stinkers of late. This week he gets a solid matchup against the Ravens who rank 29th in the league in average passing yards per game. You saw what happened with Brees against them last week. Rivers isn’t as good as Drew, but the price more than reflects the different.
Eli Manning - $6000
I’m inclined to go cheap on Draftster this week with my quarterbacks. I think there is enough value on the cheap end from guys with decent matchups. Eli, like Rivers, is another good example. He faces a Jaguars team that, despite getting slaughtered on a weekly basis, still allow a ton of passing yards. Of teams ranked in the bottom of the league in passing yards per game, the Jags have done it on the fewest attempts. They have no real answer to other team’s passing attack and the only reason they don’t rank dead last is because teams are often boat-racing them and just decide to run at the end of the game.
Consider Tom Brady coming much cheaper than the top tier guys. Though I don’t love the matchup with the Packers.
Rashad Jennings - $7000
Like I said about the Jaguars above in terms of the passing game, they are also pretty damn bad against the run. Hell, the Jags are just bad all around. Now that Jennings is back on the field for the Giants and has reinserted himself as their feature back, I think you are in a safe spot starting both he and Manning in cash games if so inclined. Considering their matchup, and the Giants commitment to get Jennings involved in the passing game, you stand a good chance to take all of the Giants scoring against one of the worst defenses in the league. Basically, if Jennings had scored a TD against the Cowboys last week his price would be closer to 8K. Buy him at a discount this time around.
Le’Veon Bell - $8600
Because I think you are getting enough savings in the quarterback and wide receiver, spending up for Bell here doesn’t appear to handcuff you in terms of salary. Bell is a tippy-top* running back option against a Saints team that got ripped apart by Justin Forsett last week. It stands to reason the Steelers will go early and often to Bell who ranks among the league leaders in usage this season.
*Industry term
C.J. Anderson - $5700
The Chiefs have been sneaky bad against the run this season. They rank in the lower half of the league in average yards per game which is significant considering they’ve allowed this number on about 50 less carries than any other team in the bottom group. Some of that stems from them grounding away the clock on the offensive side of the ball. But it also speaks to an inability to contain their opponent’s ground attack. Peyton Manning and Broncos are a team that recognizes the weaknesses of the opponent and will work to exploit it. I suspect that’s the case with Anderson as he again builds off his 27 carries last week.
Kenny Stills - $4800
Here’s the thing, if you believe that his boost in targets is a sustainable thing now that Brandin Cooks is done for the season, then this is fair price for the guy. It’s not a punt bargain like you are going to find on some other sites. But if he’s essentially a WR1 in terms of looks, then you are getting a solid price on the guy.
Odell Beckham Jr. - $6500
Rueben Randle - $5000
At the risk of just picking everyone in the Giants, I really can’t overstate just how bad the Jaguars are on defense this season. And ODB’s catch of the century aside, these two dudes are highly targeted pieces of the offense. I wouldn’t necessarily play everyone on Big Blue in this one, but I want to have exposure to their offense for sure simply because of the matchup and that their prices remain very much in the middle of the pack.
Robert Woods - $3300
For his price his floor is very high considering he's the WR2 in the offense. Was heavily targeted last week against the Jets, though that is probably somewhat of an aberration. He's an upside play because he's seen games with close to double digit targets, but can putt disappearing acts in certain affairs. If Joe Haden is covering Sammy Watkins then I think Woods gets a few more looks even though Cleveland is a top ten defense against the pass.
Coly Fleener - $3300
He skunked a bunch of people last week as he went from a huge target in the Colts’ offense to a relative no-show. It was tough considering the value we thought we were getting going in. But I’m right back on the horse (colt reference) with Fleener as I think very little has changed about his situation. It looks like Allen will sit again, making Fleener the primary pass-catching tight end in the offense and that alone presents insane value considering his price. This is too good of a spot to pass up considering the rest of the field and just how much you need to pay to grab Gronk.
Strongly consider Greg Olsen as your mid level guy if the money is working out correctly. He sits right between Fleener and Gronk and if that’s where the rest of your lineup works out to be, then Olsen is a suitable option.
