Draftster has a ton of cool stuff going on including the a whole host of Freerolls
Andrew Luck -
I'm willing to spend here. There is value to be had on Draftster this week in some of the other areas so I don't think you are really forced into skimping at all on the quarterback. In what should be a really high-scoring, fun game to watch, Luck stands to pay value even as the highest priced QB on the board. Luck's floor is just so high considering how much the Colts are committed to the throw. Luck is responsible for something close to 66% of the Colts' total offense between his arm and his legs. He's super safe even at these prices considering the game's Vegas projections.
Cam Newton - $7000
If you want to go a little cheaper consider Cam here at relatively cheap prices. He saved his day in garbage time against the Eagles, but the history books will say he was bad rather than just being a total and complete nightmare. The Falcons rank dead last in the NFL against the pass and really aren't exactly stout against the run. I know Cam has had his troubles this season. It's all on the table here. But if you are looking for a QB that could significantly outpace his salary then this is your guy. He has multiple TD upside and his ability with his legs really gives him a way to outstrip his tag. It's speculative of course, but the matchup is choice.
Look,
Mark Ingram - $6300
The case for Ingram is easy, he gets all of the carries out of the backfield for the Saints and there is no one challenging his role. In the NFL that is a decent amount of the story. He's had 24, 30 and 27 carries since taking over as the feature back and the Saints seem content to lean on him as long as he's back there. That he's priced under some of the big boys means you have a unique buying opportunity. It's not necessarily a secret mind you, but I'm not interested in fading someone like this considering the price opportunity and opponent in the Bengals who have spent the last couple of weeks getting shredded.
Jeremy Hill - $5100
I suppose this play depends a lot about what you think the Bengals' chances are in this game. If you think there is any way they hang, then Hill is a major bargain. Giovani Bernard has been ruled out already leaving Hill as the primary back. That of course doesn't mean much if your team is getting schellacked and needs to run. But if the Bengals can hang then this price is insanely low for a feature back in an offense where he will see all of the carries.
Andrew Hawkins - $3300
Probably not the guy you thought I'd lead off this category with, but alas, here we are. Look, even running teams like the Browns need to pass some times and when they do, Hawkins is the primary target. He's seen nine targets a game in his last three and averaging about 5/75. That's more than enough for this price tag which is a punt play. Punting with a guy who is the WR1 gives you an insanely high floor. He will be in all of my Draftster lineups without hesitation.
Reggie Wayne - $4700
Another example of a guy criminally underpriced considering how he's used in the offense. Of course I recognize that all targets are not created equally but Wayne has seen an average of nine targets per game in his last three. And like I said with Luck, this game against the Patriots is gearing up to be a touchdown fest. Wayne isn't a WR1 and he needs to share his targets with the rest of the squad. But at these prices he only needs to operate as second fiddle as long we think the game is going to be aired out all day. The Colts are content to pass in place of the run and there should be more than enough opportunity.
Greg Olsen - $5200
In most other formats I'm advocating playing Gronkowski and Graham almost exclusively. But on Draftster, where Olsen sits significantly below both of those guys, I think you can play him rather safely. Outside of Benjamin, Olsen is Cam's primary target and for a tight end, that's a solid spot even if the offense is suspect. This is mostly a price thing. Of course I think the big two tight ends are way better than Olsen. But when we factor in price and what that flexibility can allow you to do elsewhere, I think playing Olsen in this spot is a plus move. I'd almost guarantee you are one of the only people playing him (unless others read the article) but this is getting your money in good.
