Pitchers

Well it's the last day of the regular season, so just be sure to watch for those lineup cards, see if any pitchers will be on limits and enjoy. We've been at it for six months. Time has flown.

Adam Wainwright -

David Price -

Cole Hamels -

Consider Alex Cobb

Catchers

Stephen Vogt - FD 2600 DK 3000 DD 6200 DFSTR 3000
One more chance to pick on Nick Martinez. He's one of the weakest arms in all of baseball and has an xFIP in the low 5's. He strikes out less than six batters per nine and just generally gets dumped on. Vogt has a .771 OPS against righties this season which is fine enough considering the price, matchup and ballpark.

Jonathan Lucroy - FD 2700 DK 4000 DD 8850 DFSTR 3300
These freaking Brewers are going to suck me in again, I just know it. I've been on them the last couple of days and you've seen how that's worked out. But these sites, especially FanDuel, is forcing me to consider them again today against Jacob Turner. You may remember Turner's last game against the Brewers when I stacked them everywhere and he pitched by far the best game he'll ever pitch in his life. Not again. Lucroy is still coming cheap and is easy to work into games of any format.

Consider Salvador Perez

First Basemen

Adam Dunn - FD 2500 DK 3500 DD 7400 DFSTR 3000
I'm all over these A's against Nick Martinez today with Dunn fitting just the batter profile I'm looking for at these prices. He's a dude with big power who strikes out way too much against righties. Thankfully Nick Martinez doesn't hear the ump call strike three more than a couple of times a game. The Ballpark in Arlington is one of the best hitter's parks in the majors and though Dunn's had a power outage of late, I'm buying at his punt prices.

Jose Abreu - FD 3400 DK 4600 DD 11100 DFSTR 3000
Still coming very cheap on FanDuel and priced moderately in some other spots. Abreu has crushed righty pitching this season and is still working in one of the best hitter's parks in all the land. Seems safer for cash game plays as this is a tough position for the last day of the year.

Consider Adam Lind

Second Basemen

Robinson Cano - FD 2800 DK 4500 DD 10000 DFSTR 3600
Price on FanDuel remains in the stupid range and if he's playing he should be almost a must start there against all but the most elite of right handed pitching. He isn't quite the bargain elsewhere, but this should be a game of a little Cory Rasmus and then the Angels' bullpen.

Ben Zobrist - FD 2800 DK 4300 DD 8650 DFSTR 5800
He's been solid against lefties all season long and has identical walk and K rates against southpaws this year (9.2%). He faces T.J. House who has gotten bombed by righty bats to the tune of an .800 OPS in that split.

Consider Javier Baez

Shortstops

Jed Lowrie - FD 2600 DK 3400 DD 7050 DFSTR 4400
It's an Athletic-fest. That's how much our system hates Martinez and believe me, it's warranted. There are a number of good arms going on the day, so targeting the bottom feeders is especially important. Lowrie is basically just fine on offense, not doing anything spectacular but easily could be part of a number of runs.

Jose Reyes - FD 3400 DK 4800 DD 9100 DFSTR 7600
In terms of just raw points, this is your man for the day against Miguel Gonzalez. Reyes is better against righties for his career while Miguel Gonzalez is platoon neutral, though he's been worse against lefties on the season. He's a bit expensive on DraftKings, but totally reasonable on FanDuel.

Consider Hanley Ramirez

Third Basemen

Evan Longoria - FD 3200 DK 4300 DD 9350 DFSTR 4000
He's the top third base play by kind of a mile today and here's to hoping he makes it into the lineup today. Like I said for Zobrist, T.J. House gets completely crushed by righties and this is far and away Longoria's better split. He's run a little off his career marks in Hr/FB% in this split and still has an .834 OPS on this split. Of course, this is well below his career averages even with the luck removed, but I'll buy to the end on the guy. Especially considering the matchup. I don't see getting too far away from him in cash games.

But if you do you can consider Kyle Seager and Matt Carpenter

Outfielders

Coco Crisp - FD 3000 DK 4000 DD 8450 DFSTR 3600
Josh Reddick - FD 3100 DK 4100 DD 7350 DFSTR 7600
Finishing off this write up by making sure I mention every single Athletic that might take the field today. I think this covers it. Both Crisp and Reddick have run a little bad in Babip (though Reddick is traditionally low) against righties this season, but both are above average in this split. Reddick is especially productive with a 136 wRC+ against righties. Crisp is a bit lower, but makes up some of the difference with his speed. Both are coming in the mid-tier price range and get a great ballpark against a terrible pitcher.

Hunter Pence - FD 3000 DK 3600 DD 8300 DFSTR 3000
He got the day off yesterday, much to my chagrin. Today he faces Robbie Erlin, who's been bad against righties this season, but actually has reverse splits for his career. It's hard to know the truth as the sample sizes are small. I'm inclined to believe Erlin is somewhere around neutral. But that still makes Pence a buy in my mind as he's significantly better against lefties.

Brett Gardner - FD 2700 DK 4500 DD 7950 DFSTR 5700
Another guy who bummed me out when he sat yesterday. Here's to hoping he goes today agaisnt Buchholz who's been torched by lefty hitting this season allowing an OPS over .800. Gardner has his power expectation diminished because of the ballpark, but he should be able to get on base and get off to the races.

Ryan Braun - FD 3100 DK 4500 DD 9750 DFSTR 3000
Screw it. Recommended him the rest of the season. Why stop now?
