DFSR has partnered with ScoreStreak: a new, innovative style of DFS play. Gone is the salary finagling, mixing and matching, and hair-pulling that goes into setting lineups. ScoreStreak simplifies the process in an easy-to-use interface. Employing a prop-pick style, ScoresStreak leagues are specific outcome dependent with three categories: Total Bases, Hits, and for pitchers, Strikeouts.
New users who deposit through DFSR will get an extra $10 to play with. We are putting in picks every night and giving you some of our top plays each day. Two are on us, the third is all you. Or go your own way.
As always, if you are new to daily fantasy baseball, make sure read our Free Baseball e-book. It contains one mistake that basically everyone in the daily fantasy baseball industry is making!
Also be sure to sign up for a free 3-day trial to access the MLB system and spreadsheets that help produce our picks.
And give ScoreStreak a try. You'll like it as much as we do.
Mark Trumbo
Doug wrote this about Trumbo last night when he was facing Tyler Matzek, and it still holds water tonight as he faces Jorge De La Rosa. Different day, different awful Colorado lefty. Enjoy Doug's wisdom:
Going a little off board with the total bases today, but contrarian plays when they are +EV is a way to really gain separation in a set up like ScoreStreak where the margins are razor thin. Trumbo is much better on lefty platoon side of the split facing off against lefty Tyler Matzek. Chase Field in Arizona lends itself to power upside for righties. It's no Coors, but not too far behind. Trumbo rates out near the top of our system today and I almost guarantee you're the only person in your match playing the dude (unless they read this as well).
Miguel Cabrera
I love Scorestreak if only because it allows me to play my dear friend Miggy. This pick may look a little strange on the surface - Cabrera is undoubtedly better against left handers, and Stroman has been good this year. If you want to snag a Colorado lefty here, I couldn't blame you. But I'm sticking with Mr. Reliable in my second total bases slot today, and figuring that Miggy's big bat can come through with a double or better.
Robinson Cano
Cano has been absolutely peppering the ball recently, and Hector Noesi is one of the very worst pitchers in the game. Cano is a pure hitter, and when he's facing a righty of Noesi's caliber, he'll be in my lineup every time.
Starling Marte
I'm feeling Marte here for a couple of reasons. Stults is a classic pitch to contact guy, with more innings pitched than walks and strike outs combined. Marte has one of the very best expected BABIPs in the game, so if he puts the ball in play, he's as like to get a hit as anyone in baseball.
Yu Darvish
Don't get cute at the top of your strikeouts category today. It's very rare, but our projection system has actually projected him for the full 9 strikeouts that you'll need to cash the top slot. The Astros are jockeying for the slot of easiest team in the league to strike out, and they are only .1% away from unseating the Marlins. Darvish is the best strike-out pitcher since... well, I'm too lazy to look it up. But the guy is an animal. Play him.
Max Scherzer
There's a case against Scherzer today - the Blue Jays are one of the toughest teams in the league to strike out. The case for him is pretty strong, though. He goes deep into games and has struck out 171 guys in 153 innings. I'm a while out of math class, but that looks pretty good from here.
