And here we are again. But I'm convinced this thing is turning around. Fully and totally convinced and I will put my money where my mouth is here. I doubt there have been many higher percentage McCann owners than me. The Babip is still super low as is the HR/FB%. Gets Brandon Workman in Yankee Stadium. Let's keep doing this.
Has the highest upside of any catcher today. But the price is up there. Will be tough call as the rest of the catcher pool is pretty stinky. I will pay up for him in some spots but he's a little cost prohibitive.
First Basemen
Colome hasn't been good in his limited major league run. Has a little K potential but also is wild. Crush's price is low across the board and I think we all know his upside here. Game's in Camden Yards which helps. Would feel comfortable in all formats.
This feels like Coors Field all over again. Reynolds is coming cheap most places and faces a lefty in Matzek who can for sure get bombed in a place like Miller Park. He is a boom but guy but is much better against lefties and Miller plays great for hitters.
Our system likes him today against Martinez. Not hitting for the power you'd like out of a first basemen over the short term but will take the matchup against Carlos Martinez. Second Basemen
Chris Young still kind of blows. Doesn't K anyone, walks a bunch of guys, allows a ton of FBs. The only thing he's got going for him is a low LD%. But Kipnis's power/speed threat is enough to warrant the dollars. Great play today.
A top play as well. Vidal Nuno gets blasted by righties this season to the tune of a .374 wOBA. This is the right side of Pedroia's splits and Yankee stadium plays great for righties.
Picked him yesterday and went 0-4. But that's why we DFS baby! To hop right back on it. Jacob deGrom walks nearly four batters per nine and has had some home run issues to start his major league run. Walker coming cheap with upside. Shortstops
Price has come down across the board thanks to a prolonged dry spell. This is great news for you as you'll scoop some great value with him facing Vidal Nuno. A guy, as we explored with Pedroia, who gets slaughtered by righty hitters. Xander is much, much better against lefties and if there were a game for him to break out of it, it's tonight.
Don't love how low he hits in the order and if I were making a close call between he and Xander, this would help me decide to go with the latter. That being said, we know he can do damage against righties and like all Brewers today, the park and splits are in his favor.
Been hitting a ton lately. Our system actually doesn't know this, but it's nice to see to lend credence to the pick. Miller's hit safely in nine of his last ten games with some power thrown in there. K's are an issue which come into play against Bauer but still like this pick that most people won't be on.
Third Basemen
Had him as the top play at third base yesterday and he more than delivered with a home run and a couple of RBIs. Going back to it today against Matzek. Man the Rockies lined up their rotations all wrong for these series and it's biting them. Tough to get away from Aramis today against the lefty.
I probably pick too many guys against Chris Young. And maybe the tall, lanky bastard does has some way to ensure getting outs consistently beyond the K, but I doubt it. Santana's walk rate more than warrants a play here considering Young's deficiency in that area.
Kind of the same line of thought as for Walker. Big power upside. Big K downside. deGrom is no ace but the park doing Pedro no favors. This one is a bit of a stretch as I'll play the above two guys much more. Outfielders
I actually think for this one the other Brewer outfield contingent of K. Davis and Gomez (Gomez more than Davis) are a little overpriced. But not this roid'er. He's good to go. I'd have him in just about every format against the lefty.
First too picks looking pretty similar to last night. But Choo faces Kevin Correia, a guy who never saw a strikeout he wanted to get. Doesn't walk a ton of guys either, but Choo is a tough out against righties and if you can't K him he can really do some damage.
Michael Bourn FanDuel 2900 DraftKings 4100 DraftStreet 5361
A couple of outfielders against a soft-tossing righty. Neither relies on the long ball to generate value while putting the ball in play early and often. That's great news against a guy like Young he pitches to contact.
Not a huge fan of going on the wrong side of the split for Rios but he's cheaper across the board and there isn't much fear of the strikeout against Correia.
AS I said for Crush, Colome has been uninspiring in his brief time in the majors. Markakis lives to get his bat on the ball with reduced K and BB numbers for his career. Colome will have to be careful with the top part of the Orioles lineup
I have him this far down the list because of price only. But getting to face the lefty Vargas gives him tremendous potential. Are you willing to pay? I don't know if I would but the raw expectation is for sure there.
