You will also see a decent amount of Blue Jays on the docket. I don't think I'm going to stray too far from those two teams (along with the Tigers) because of the matchups and the parks. Just too much in each of their favors. First Basemen
Price is steep but so is the expectation. Most raw point from a first baseman today with Texas playing great for righties and Nick Martinez rocking an xFIP in the mid 5's. Miggy be Miggy and I think you can pay up for him today.
Picking on Scott Carroll again. Lind is a fantastic play. His OPS is well over .900 and he is walking almost as much as he's striking out. Against a weak pitcher on the positive side of the split this is a guy you should slot into all formats.
Hate the park, love the matchup. Votto is a tough guy to get past as his 18.7% BB rate is higher than his 17.6% K rate. He's on OBP machine and this always keeps the floor high. I'm no Vogelsong fan but the park does help the pitcher some today.
Consider Lucas Duda
Second Basemen
This is the perfect matchup for Murphy. Worley is a low K, low walk pitcher who tries to generate contact (or if he isn't trying to, sure does it a lot). Murphy doesn't K or walk either and his bat will be on the ball all day today.
Gets the platoon nod against lefties and tends to hit near the top of the lineup when southpaws are on the hill. He's cheap across the industry (with good reason, he isn't terribly good) but the splits are in his favor and Freidrich is bad.
Back from the DL just in time to face Daisuke. Before the injury Walker was showing some solid power and though Matsusaka has some K potential, dude always walks an insane five batters per nine. Shortstops
Scott Carroll is back in the majors so we can all be grateful for that. With an xFIP near five you'll be targeting Jays' bats today and Reyes is the top shortstop on the day with great prices across the board.
Went off in Colorado in that series. Milwaukee isn't Coors, but it isn't so far behind in terms of park factors it isn't so far behind the mile high air in terms of power for righties.
Surprisingly there is some pretty good value at shortstop today. Feels weird. I like Desmond's price and the splits are in his favor although he isn't an extreme guy. Travis Wood has his flashes but is far from awesome. Third Basemen
Saw this one coming didn't you? He's sporting an 1.161 OPS against lefties this season representing a more than .400 point difference in platoon splits as compared to facing righties. All the better that it's in Miller Park.
A little steep on DS for me but he's practically a steal on FD and DK where the lower salaries offer a ton of flexibility. And his upside is pretty great considering the matchup and his power.
Though it hasn't played out this season, Zimmerman is much better against lefties over the course of his career. His 137 wRC+ for his span shows a preference for facing that side of the split. Outfielders
Carlos Gomez FanDuel 4200 DraftKings 4500 DraftStreet 7786
Khris Davis FanDuel 3600 DraftKings 4100 DraftStreet 6486
This BrewCrew three headed monster could really do damage tonight. They all crush lefties, are all advantageously priced and get to face Friedrich. Choosing among the Brewers is tough today. It feels like Coors Field all over again.
Colby Rasmus FanDuel 3500 DraftKings 3800 DraftStreet 5921
Would play Melky in cash games for his hit potential and Rasmus for the cheap power upside.
Our system has no love for Rick Porcello and only wishes the Rangers had more lefty bats so we could pick on him a little more. Choo is a steal today.
Extreme splits guy that's crushed lefties for his career. Has really struggled lately but this could be a spot he breaks out of it and the prices are getting close to the low point.
