Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Quick Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftStreet 4/25/14

Some quick picks for tonight's games, mostly focused on FanDuel pricing.

Quick note about NBA playoff DFS. Gone are the Sixers, Bucks and Lakers of the world to feast on. Only the good teams are left. And the superstars are priced accordingly. The margins are thin here. Tread carefully.

Point Guards

Damian Lillard
Probably the biggest boom/bust play from a PG standpoint, I'm willing to run Lillard over Lowry and Wall because the price point dictates somewhere around the same multiplied upside. Wall and Lowry are safer, but the speed of the Rockets/ Blazer actually has me thinking Lillard is safer just from the amount of touches he'll have. He's getting to the line a ton so far in the series and I don't see any reason for him to stop attacking.

Greivous Vasquez or
Shaun Livingston
I'm going cheap with this second spot and see these two guys as having upside at their similar prices. I think both stand to see more opportunity upticks for tonight's game. Vasquez has been snagging some of Ross's run and Livingston has been taking many fewer shots so far this series. When looking for opportunity I think both could trend upwards for tonight's games.

Shooting Guards

Wesley Matthews
The shots have been there for him. If he gets hot in a high scoring game, he could put up numbers that well outpace the salary. This is mostly about wanting to get dollars, at a possible discount, into a a game that will be high scoring. I'm not in love with much that's going on at shooting guard today.

Jimmy Butler
I'd be willing to pay for the run. Butler, as he has all season, plays insane minutes, more than 50 in the overtime affair a few days ago. Though he didn't play well there, he's been a 5x-er at these prices. I really like buying after poor performances because other players in your leagues will let that kind of thing effect their decisions.

Small Forwards

Trevor Ariza
Even factoring in for the defense of Chicago, Ariza's price has dipped to a point well below what his possible output is, especially if he gets hot. Not a safe play by any means (very few guys in the playoffs are, it is the playoffs after all), Ariza has had games where he's gone parabolic from beyond the arc. Granted Chicago isn't the kind of team that typically lets up those type of games, but Ariza at these prices as compared to Parsons and Batum, seems like a deal.

Chandler Parsons
Speaking of. All about pace and opportunity. I'd take him over Batum only because of the scoring upside. Both guys have diversified games, but Parsons will put the ball in the basket more. For around the same prices, the scoring is where one guy can truly separate.

Power Forwards

LaMarcus Aldridge
We said spending on Aldridge was the play at PF and that has held true. He is putting up truly ridiculous numbers early in this series. Just as the Blazers have no real answer for Dwight, the Rockets cannot handle LA even a little bit. I would want to believe there is regression coming, as it seems crazy to think he can keep putting up the same number of shots over the whole series, but these games are played lightening quick and the volume for everyone is huge.

Nene Hilario
Loving the price on him today. While Chicago is stout defensively of course, Nene's minutes are the key here. Nene is getting full run at PF with a price that suggests he's still injured/ getting late season reduced minutes. His quickness in the block is a bit of an issue for the Bulls. Pairing him with Aldridge on FD makes sense from a price standpoint and for a bit more Nene offers more safety than Taj Gibson.

Center

Dwight Howard
Price still doesn't reflect just how much he dominates Robin Lopez and the Blazers. I said early in our playoff picks that Howard stood to have the biggest price correction going forward. This was partially true in that there should have been a bigger one and it hasn't happened. He's averaging 29/15 in the first two games and is priced $1600 less than Noah on FanDuel. That's insane.
