Daily Fantasy NBA Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftStreet 3/30/14

These last couple of days in the NBA have been a bit nuts. Last night it seemed like everyone was either hurt before the game started, or hurt/ejected once the games were underway. Starting to jones a bit for baseball, coming tomorrow! We'll have our baseball projection system up and running ASAP. In the meantime, let's squeeze the last bit of value out of the NBA.

Point Guards

Goran Dragic - FanDuel $7,600 DraftKings $8,100 DraftStreet $14,647
Going pretty simple today. Recommending a bunch of Suns and some auxiliary parts is the strategy I'll be taking, playing Phoenix guys whenever possible. The Dragon's been on a crushing tour lately and gets to face up against the Lakers at home. Here's to hoping the game stays close because at these prices he's a steal (Which the Lakers allow 28% more of than league average to point guards. See what I did there?)

Shaun Livingston - FanDuel $4,700 DraftKings $4,400
Low prices on a guy who gets the minutes and keeps his floor high because of his ability to different stuff* on the court. I'm targeting a bunch of Nets tonight along with the Suns because Brooklyn should see more volume across the board against Minnesota.
*Advanced basketball metric

George Hill - FanDuel $4,900 DraftStreet $9,044
Really like the prices here for Hill going against the Cavs who don't miss Kyrie because his defense was about as bad as what they've got going now.

Deron Williams - FanDuel $7,400 DraftKings $7,100 DraftStreet $13,940
It's always great to target slow teams against quick squads because the prices on the turtles won't reflect they're playing the hares (literary reference). If he snags forty minutes D-Will pays these prices easy.

Mike Conley - FanDuel $7,000
Is actually one of the top FD point guard plays today because of the price and Portland not being great against opposing point guards.

Kyle Lowry - DraftKings $8,400 DraftStreet $15,923
System likes him, but I'm worried about the minutes and the ankle.

Shooting Guards

Shitshow here tonight. Good luck.

Eric Bledsoe - FanDuel $7,400 DraftKings $7,900 DraftStreet $13,977
On SG dependent sites with strict positional considerations I think you almost need to play Bled"show". The matchup is too choice and Bledsoe's been playing too well. He's clearly the best play at shooting guard tonight.

Joe Johnson - FanDuel $6,100 DraftKings $5,800 DraftStreet $11,431
Same reasoning with Livingston and D-Will. Should see more opportunities. JJ is far from safe but I think he's completely reasonable tonight against a T-Wolve team that allows more scoring than league average.

Jodie Meeks - DraftKings $5,200
Cheap. I guess. SG blows tonight.

Small Forwards

Paul Pierce - FanDuel $5,300 DraftKings $5,900 DraftStreet $10,556
We recommended him the other night and he had a first quarter to beat the band before eventually cooling off. I don't want to start four Nets today but each in their own right look like strong plays.

Paul George - FanDuel $8,300 DraftKings $8,600 DraftStreet $15,093
I probably won't be paying for any of the expensive names tonight leaving George as a solid value play in the tier right below the big boys. He doesn't have a high ceiling, but should benefit from playing against a Cleveland team that gets blitzed on the scoring end by opposing small forwards.

P.J. Tucker - FanDuel $5,600 DraftKings $5,000 DraftStreet $10,355
Lakers. Lakers. Lakers. Tucker will be in an up and down game against whatever flavor of SF the Lakers decide to employ tonight.

Power Forwards

Markieff Morris - FanDuel $6,000 DraftKings $6,300 DraftStreet $12,319
This is the one recommnendation from the Suns that scares me because he is anything but consistent. The problem tonight is a clear lack of options at the power forward position. Morris though can pay significant dividends on this price as he can score and rebound in quick spurts. On a bad night for the position, he is the top play.

Taj Gibson - FanDuel $6,300 DraftKings $6,000 DraftStreet $12,296
Like I said, PF sucks tonight. Gibson coming off the bench is still better than most of the other starter options today as the Celtics have allowed about 4% more scoring than league average to opposing power forwards. Gibson and Boozer below offer nice, midrange value at a weak

Carlos Boozer - FanDuel $5,500 DraftStreet $10,802
Pretty much the same story as Gibson but the price on DraftKings is too high. Would need to play him for upside because he can no show.

Centers

Basically what you are hoping for is one of the good centers gets sick or hit by a bus or something and you can punt the position because it is pretty grizzly out there.

Marc Gasol - FanDuel $7,300 DraftKings $7,200 DraftStreet $14,153
Speaking of Grizzlies (boom!) Gasol is really the only somewhat decent play on the board tonight. Portland is slightly below average against opposing centers and Gasol should be able to take some advantage of Ro-Lo down low. This is a weak field tonight and while I don't root for injuries, maybe a chipped toenail to a big dude would pave the way for a nice punt.
