Daily Fantasy Basketball Picks for FanDuel, DraftKings and DraftStreet 2/24/13

Welcome to the glorious state of being that is "Monday". Bummed about the prospect of the every day grind? Not around these parts where Mondays (like every day in the DFS world) provide the opportunity to start anew. Here's a toast to Monday as we begin our week on the hunt for value.

Looking for an edge over the field? Try our FanDuel and DraftStreet lineup construction tools. They offer a chance to use the system we employ for our picks in a way that helps you set optimal lineups.

Point Guards

Brandon Knight - FanDuel $6,700 DraftKings $6,700 DraftStreet $15,451
Ah, the old Philly bump. You'll see it plenty today with the Bucks being so woefully bad that all of their guys are cheap. This has been a major source of problems around these parts. The Bucks always look so enticing because they suck but get great matchups. This is another case. Knight is the one guy I actually don't worry about too much though. His minutes are locked in and he's productive. Price on FD is pretty much a must start as long as he's playing, DK as well. DS it's close but he still seems safe.

Rajon Rondo - FanDuel $7,400 DraftKings $7,400 DraftStreet $15,146
The shooting is a concern, but everything else about Rondo's game screams "start me!" Thankfully the Celtics understand the DFS community and have Rondo on a strict regiment where we don't have to worry too much if he's playing or not. He doesn't play the second part of back-to-backs and gets full minute runs in the other games. He's got a nice matchup with Utah tonight and, like Knight above, will be hard to fade on FanDuel and DraftKings.

Chris Paul - FanDuel $8,800 DraftKings $9,500 DraftStreet $19,546
He's in play on every site, but especially on FanDuel. Point guard is tough tonight because there are some legit great options. While I think his price is fair on the other sites, again, how can you avoid him on FanDuel. I've been saying for over a week now that he's incorrectly priced there and he just keeps crushing. Probably need to take advantage while the getting is good.

Michael Carter-Williams - FanDuel $7,200 DraftStreet $13,870
The Sixers are a big question mark right now. It's hard to know how their new guys will impact minutes. MCW is one of the few guys I'm not worried about though. He's an upside play against the Bucks tonight and his DraftStreet price is especially low for what he can provide. This game against the Bucks could be the least watchable game of the season from a pound-for-pound talent standpoint. But Carter-Williams could be a bright spot.

Stephen Curry - DraftStreet $17,468
I likely won't get him into my FanDuel lineups but I listed it because the price is fair enough. DraftKings he's over 10K and there is better value. But on DraftStreet it's a different story. Holy moly this is low. He pays this price at 2x nearly every game with a ton of room for upside. Detroit is below average against PGs in every phase of the game and Curry could demolish Jennings. What a price on him.

Trey Burke - FanDuel $5,700
Wanted to throw him in here just because he's been playing great of late and price hasn't caught up yet. He'll be D-ed up by Rondo and I like other options a bit better on FD but he's at least worth a mini-look.

Shooting Guards

Hate this position tonight. The prices are all over the place and I don't love any of the options. Our system likes certain guys more than others but each of these dudes comes with some serious question marks. You'll see what I mean.

Monta Ellis - FanDuel $6,500 DraftStreet $14,078
See what I mean? Can't recommend him on DraftKings because the price is out of whack but he's one of the few SGs tonight who gets his minutes. I might be willing to pay just for that peace of mind. And that is the only time you will ever hear "peace of mind" and "Monta Ellis" in the same write up. But the Knicks are terrible of defense and really have no guard who can stick with Ellis on D. God help us if Tim Hardaway Jr. finds himself on Monta, Ellis could but up 30.

Tyreke Evans - FanDuel $5,500 DraftKings $5,900 DraftStreet $9,531
Still seeing what I mean? He's a bench player, getting around 25 minutes a game. He can be productive in that limited run, hence why our system thinks he can pay off, but the proposition is more than a little scary. System likes him for a bit of upside. Eek.

Giannis Antetokounmpo - FanDuel $4,400 DraftKings $4,000 DraftStreet $9,296
Getting grosser. If he weren't playing Philly I wouldn't even mention him but on the first two sites he's in punting range. Can give you 5 points or 30.

O.J. Mayo - FanDuel $3,700 DraftKings $4,000 DraftStreet $5,955
I'm going to puke.

Klay Thompson - DraftStreet $10,186 or Eric Gordon - DraftStreet $9,596
I listed these guys together because if on DraftStreet you are looking for players in this price range to round out your roster Thompson and Gordon both rate. I'd take Klay if I was looking for a bit of safety and Gordon for upside (because he's been dreadful lately).

Small Forwards

Kyle Singler - FanDuel $4,100 DraftKings $4,100 DraftStreet $7,544
Singler seems completely safe at these prices. His minutes are all but locked in at the two and he chips in enough to pay off. He probably won't win you any big tournaments but he can get a little hot shooting. I love him mostly because at these prices all you can ask for is consistency. A nice double up play.

Caron Butler - FanDuel $4,700 DraftKings $4,000 DraftStreet $8,065 or Khris Middleton - FanDuel $4,800 DraftKings $4,100 DraftStreet $7,244
Both stink in real life basketball, but whoever is starting tonight probably gets the nod at these prices. Again, only on here because of the matchup against Philly.

Andre Iguodala - FanDuel $5,300 DraftKings $6,400 and Draymond Green - FanDuel $3,700
I listed them together because they both get huge bumps if Lee and/or Bogut can't go again. These guys become much bigger components of the offense when those other guys sit. But if Lee and Bogut are back I think you can avoid them.

Power Forwards

John Henson - FanDuel $5,600 DraftKings $5,600 DraftStreet $10,486 and/ or Ersan Ilyasova - FanDuel $5,200 DraftKings $4,900 DraftStreet $9,566
I don't even want to write anything about these losers. Play whoever starts. Go on suicide watch.

Blake Griffin - FanDuel $9,900 DraftKings $10,000 DraftStreet $20,789
No we're talking! I feel like I just went a really long time without writing about anyone with true talent. Blake draws a great matchup tonight against Anthony Davis and the Pelicans. While Davis and co. can score and rebound, they don't guard PF well at all. Blake and CP3 could be in for a long evening of pick and rolls/pops. I think Blake has serious upside for his FD price and should have no real issue playing off tonight. (He says now)

Carmelo Anthony - FanDuel $10,700 DraftKings $10,800 DraftStreet $19,681
I'm going to work like hell to get both Melo and Blake into my lineups, meaning I'll be staring at a lot of those Bucks that I hate. But on a relatively short night these guys are just great value even at their high tags. Dallas will have real problems with Melo's versatility and since he is really the Knicks only consistent option on offense, he again should see plenty of looks.

Thaddeus Young - DraftKings $7,400
I'd only consider him here because the price is low and hopefully he's still playing angry because all of his friends got traded.

Centers

Enes Kanter - FanDuel $5,400 DraftKings $5,800 DraftStreet $13,535
Kanter may stay the starter even when Favors comes back. He's been playing that well. I listed first because he's a value across the board though I should point out that I might target two Dre's on DraftStreet. Kanter not only comes at a great salary, he also faces up against Boston and their complete inability to guard opposing centers. Use any metric you like, they just can't do it.

Andre Drummond - DraftKings $7,800 DraftStreet $15,577
DeAndre Jordan - DraftKings $7,200 DraftStreet $15,323
These two guys are right next to each other in our system tonight. The prices are nearly identical and they both face defenses that are about average against centers. If Bogut doesn't play again I probably give the nod to Drummond. It's close. I don't really love their FanDuel prices, but on the other two site the deserve big time consideration. I'll probably choose the wrong one, but you won't.

Tyson Chandler - FanDuel $5,500 DraftKings $6,200
The only way I'm getting away from Kanter on FanDuel is with Chandler. He's been just crushing and the price hasn't caught up yet. I like him for a double/double against Dallas.
