Daily Fantasy NFL Picks for Draftpot - Week 12

Welcome to the Week 12 DFS NFL picks article for Draftpot, a brand new way to play fantasy sports. Draftpot is similar to other DFS sites except there is no salary cap restrictions. They offer two separate game types(Fan Mode/GM Mode). For NFL, Fan Mode allows you to build a roster of 1 QB,2 RB,3 WR,1 TE,2 FLEX,1 K,1 DEF without salary restrictions. You can roster anyone you want. In GM Mode, you also roster the same positions but have a Drafpot Points Per Game(DPPG) cap. Each player have a PPG value attached to their name which is a reflection of their previous 16 games played. This gives a more transparent look at player value.

When making my picks I will be looking at a multitude of information (Vegas lines, totals and player props, targets, defensive matchups, injuries, offensive line rankings and of course DPPG) to break down all the players in the pool to provide you with the best analysis possible for the slate at hand.

If you missed out on Week 11 at DraftPot, you missed out on some excellent guaranteed prize pools at every level of buyin:

  • $15 Buyin - $40,000 Touchdown(Fan Mode) paying out $4,000 to 1st place
  • $25 Buyin - $20,000 Spike(GM Mode) paying out $2,000 to 1st place
  • $5 Buyin - $5,000 Hot Route(Fan Mode) paying out $500 to 1st place

Also, don't forget about the "No Rake" head to head contests. A great way to maximize your profit and buidl your bankroll!

To win a tournament in Fan Mode you won't be able to just pick the top players at their positions each week. You will need to differentiate yourself with some low ownership picks. One way I love doing this is picking good players who are coming off a bad to horrible week. Recency bias plays a huge part in daily fantasy and is something we can use to our advantage to gain an edge on the field in large field GPP tournaments. I feel there is a tremendous opportunity for this here in week 2 with the number of poor performances by top players last week.

Remember, in a mode like DraftPot you will need some separation from the field. Players who stand to produce big games that give you a chance to break from the pack some.

Quarterbacks

Kirk Cousins - Washington Redskins (DPPG - 17.37)
Opponent- NYG

When looking at home/road splits for quarterbacks there is no more glaring standout than Kirk Cousins. When playing at home he looks like a Pro Bowl QB. Ok that may be pushing it but you get the point. On the flip side when he plays on the road he looks like...well Kirk Cousins. Good for you this week, he is playing at home and in a great matchup. The Giants rank 2nd last in fantasy points against quarterbacks in a game where the Redskins should be trailing and forced to throw a ton.

Brian Hoyer - Houston Texans (DPPG - 11.60)
Opponent- NO
Before getting a concussion 2 games ago was very consistent behind center with 5 straight games between 17 and 25 DraftPot points. He is equipped with an elite option at WR(DeAndre Hopkins) and a great matchup vs. the Saints who allow the most fantasy points to quarterbacks.

Also Consider: Carson Palmer - Arizona Cardinals (20.67 DPPG)

Running Backs

Adrian Peterson - Minnesota Vikings (DPPG - 15.13)
Opponent- ATL

The Vikings and Falcons face off on Sunday in what will be a huge game when looking at the standings. Both teams are sitting in Wild Card spots at the moment and while the Vikings have a legit shot at the division, the Falcons will need the Wild Card to get into the playoffs. The Packers shut down AP's yards last week(45 rushing, 16 receiving) but he now has touchdowns in 3 straight games. He is leading the league in rushing with 1006 yards and will have a nice matchup vs. the Falcons who allow a ton of fantasy points to running backs. Fire up AP as he will look to carry the team to victory.

Javorius Allen - Baltimore Ravens (DPPG - 4.85)
Opponent- @ CLE

With Forsett out with a broken leg the backfield will be turned over to Buck Allen this week. He is set to see over 20 carries and also should see 5+ targets in the passing game. If you are playing GM Mode he comes at a very small cost and in Fan Mode should be low owned as most people gravitate to the top end picks at the position.

Also Consider: Doug Martin - Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12.48 DPPG)

Wide Receivers

DeAndre Hopkins - Houston Texans (20.19 DPPG)
Opponent- NO

He is coming off a game where he was shadowed by Revis and lit him up for 118 yards and 2 TD's last Sunday. He is now faced with Delvin Breaux, who will most likely get the task of shadowing Hopkins this week. This doesn't scare me as Hopkins is an elite WR and matchup proof. If you are playing Hoyer as a low owned QB option you will want to match him with Hopkins.

Larry Fitzgerald - Arizona Cardinals (16.42 DPPG)
Opponent- @ SF

Has been one of the most consistent WR options this year with only one game under double digit fantasy points. Carson Palmer has been chucking this year and Fitz has been getting 9.8 targets per week. He gets to face the weak 49ers defense this week and should be able to continue the streak of double digit points.

Also Consider: Mike Evans - TB Buccaneers (DPPG 12.78)

Tight Ends

Rob Gronkowski - New England Patriots (DPPG - 17.90)
Opponent- @ DEN

Has been up and down with production lately but the upside is gigantic. While some may steer clear of the tough matchup in Denver, I will be all over Gronk this week. The Pats have lost Edelman, Lewis, and now Amendola so you can be sure Brady will be targeting Gronk a ton while trying to beat down the Broncos on the road.

Tyler Eifert - Cincinnati Bengals (DPPG - 11.70)
Opponent- STL
If you are looking to pivot off Gronk and looking for the upside, Eifert is your man. He doesn't get the targets Gronk does but makes the most of the targets he does receive. He now has 4 multi TD games in 2015. With the Rams most likely looking to shut down AJ Green, this should leave some extra targets for Eifert this week.

Also Consider - Antonio Gates - San Diego Chargers (DPPG - 9.76)

Defenses

Kansas City Chiefs (DPPG - 9.19
Opponent- BUF
They have put up double digit points in four of their last five games and have multiple sacks in six straight games. When looking at the team turnover differential the Chiefs are ranked 3rd(+10) while the Bills sit 6th(+6).

Cleveland Browns (DPPG - 7.19)
Opponent- BAL
Coming off a game in which they grabbed 5 sacks, a INT, and a fumble recovery. If they get the pass rush going they have a nice ceiling in a matchup vs. the Ravens who rank 30th in turnover differential(-8).

Kicker

Cairo Santos - KC Chiefs (DPPG - 11.00)
Opponent- BUF
Very consistent option who gets multiple FG attempts every game as the Chiefs are ranked 22nd in red zone efficiency(51%) for the season.
